General Wolves News

For this season, perhaps. It didn't read as "this is how it will be for the rest of time" to me. Though I'm sure it was groomed as such.
We know where the fuck up is. You can isolate it.

Spend all the Jota money on Fabio and Hoever (and pay £27m for Semedo), sack Nuno, appoint Lage, retain Lage, sign Guedes. All completely fucking stupid.

I don't mind that we have to pay for that down the line, it's natural we have to. We should be ok too. Please don't pretend it's a plan though Jeff.

It's a pretty simple logical line to draw though, people do it all the time.

"Oh our plan fucked up, so we need to change the plan, but it's still the plan".

Not defending it, per se, but you're never getting an exec coming out saying "howdy y'all, I sure did make a right fuckin' mess of all this, eh?"

He may as well have not said anything. All over Twitter fans asking for "communication" - it's just pointless we've not learned anything from that, that we didn't already know. It still makes no sense why we can't spend anything despite what we've brought in, they can keep saying FFP but the numbers don't stack up that we are in any danger of breaching those rules at all

A long way of saying that we're reliant on what we've already got and it might be better next summer (if we survive).
It wouldn’t surprise me if they’ve looked at the division and thought we’re not finishing below U, V, X, Y and Z. We can therefore make the accounts and headroom on FFP look good for either a future sale or investment in the team if the owners become interested again.

So Jeff went to China to get Guo to approve the release of that?
My worry is the inference if we are careful with expenditure this summer, we can go for it more next summer. I hope that isn't a ploy to distract/placate supporters.

He's gonna look like a bit of a tit if the numbers are as most people suspect.

'Finally, in recent years we have made a lot of long-term investments into young talent that may not play for our first-team immediately, and those investments increase our asset value in the balance sheet but impact our profit and loss, especially in a net investment phase.'

Is he talking about Silva, Hoever etc here?

I don't really read anything into that statement, doesn't tell us anything new. Anyone with half a brain can see the FFP stuff is a complete red herring. We'll still likely bring in a couple of players and when we do, I'd say we've improved on last year's squad by quite a bit.

Love to know all this great talent chomping at the bit.
Arrogance is unbelievable basically saying we won’t spend a penny this and we’ll go again next summer basically assuming our PL status is assured.
Well Jeff the problem is here and now you’ve got a thread bare squad and a very angry head coach.
Relegation is a very clear possibility especially if your head coach fucks off.

Basically we’re not spending nowt but whilst you’re here can you dig deeper into your pockets pls.

I think our first XI is good enough to finish in the top half as is under Lopetegui. A couple long term injuries in certain locations and it becomes dicey though.

Really need a CB and CM at minimum.

But then this big profit year drops off the accounts in a few years and the big loss next year is still on it! We need to spend some of this big profit now otherwise you just go round in circles

Benchmarking us against newly promoted clubs
"we do need to be humble with a challenger attitude, as if it was our first Premier League season all over again."

But we didn't benchmark season ticket prices against newly promoted clubs...

Doesn't FFP change to clubs only being able to spend 70% of their income or something

Who are these hot Academy prospects, Jeff?

what-huh.gif
We sold him to Liverpool, should be challenging for the first team by 2028.
