General Wolves News

We acted like twats and got a slap on the wrist. Not really a big deal.

I’d rather us just win games of football by not being fucking useless rather than stop playing to moan to referees and then lose our heads and moan more about a decision which in truth didn’t affect the result.

Our behaviour is doing us no favours. They aren’t going to start being sympathetic to us because we scream in their face. Probably the opposite.

Forest are shite and it’s going to be a horrible, niggly game where they can’t beat us on merit but can if they get in our heads. So just concentrate on the football rather than getting wound up about things you can’t control.
Difficult to win games of football if the game changing decisions go against you consistently.

Newcastle and Leeds penalties are the obvious ones. Those two penalty decisions, particularly the Newcastle one change the game completely.

Yep.

We are wrapped up in this situation. Fine when its fans but no so for the players.

The management team have to work out how to use this us versus them in a positive way. Right now we are mentally weak and the first sign something is going against us we are distracted by it rather than fighting it. At the moment though those in charge are also distracted by it.

Will say its bastard hard to do as we have had some shockers, certainly since the start of the year. VAR not existing at Anfield, non penalty at Forest in the Cup, ref being terrified of a player 10 yards way from him, the utter disgrace of the decision at Newcastle and the non penalty last week but we have got get our heads back.

Hoping the 2 week break, change of scenery for some will help. My worry for our next game is not based on our ability but how Forest will shithouse us. How we react to the first decision the players don't agree with is going to be key.

So they've overturned the red card & essentially admitted they're wrong, but they're going to fine us anyway for the way we reacted because of the wrong decision? Righto.
They've overturned the Nunes red card, but are fining us for the reaction to the goal/foul that wasn't given, that resulted in the Nunes red card. So ultimately, there isn't a contradiction in their statement/action.

Lop and his backroom staff were all having lunch at The Bandon Arms in Bridgnorth a couple of days ago

Agree to an extent, but it’s not the reason we are where we are.

Indeed. But we’re not the only ones getting bad decisions. It’s just come in a bit of a clump and our general inability to score goals is making us reliant on being given penalties and making us more angry when we’re not given them.

I don't think we're struggling to score goals too much and we are creating chances.

Letting them in is far more of a concern right now.

Our xG against Leeds was actually pretty good. The main issue was the plethora of easy chances we didn’t score.
I've only seen extended highlights but fair to say Raul, Sarabia and Neto should bury their chances inside the box

Semedo too in the first half. Rubbish effort, not sure where he's even aiming there.

We still don’t score enough, I’m not sure how that’s remotely debateable.

Score the same at Newcastle and Leeds but keep a clean sheet and we don't lose.

Don't see how that's debatable 🤷

If you don’t concede you’ll never walk away from a match empty-handed.

Well in purely simplistic terms it isn’t. But it is if you consider the context of the games and the goals, as well as the other recent games too

That's fair, it's not all about scoring and conceding which is why the 'we need to score more goals' is such a reductive argument.

We just need to be better.

“Git gud” if you’re a yooth

Beginning to feel a bit sorry for PTS. His liberal attitude as to when to take holidays has brought it on himself to a degree, but the mouthbreathers pile on to every comment. He entered the world of must win games today, saying that Forest isn't. He's right, but is being destroyed. If I were him I'd go down the route Spiers did, Tweet links to stories and news, Tweet during the game and press conferences. Ignore all responses, it can't be good for your mental health
