Football Manager

Bell was brilliant for me in my last season, great signing. Just drawn my opening game of the new season 0-0 at Villa. I signed 4 16 year olds from Europe for a fair amount of money as they are already quality and going to be even better along with an improvement to my anchor man of midfield (Tachsidis I think his name is), a brilliant 19 year old regen AMR and that wonderkid regen from before.
 
OK FOLKS i AM BORED WITH MY OLD WII AND THE GAME SIT HAS WHAT SHOULD I GET AND WHY??? Sorry about the capitals buit brandy and coke dull the senses!
 
Lost the second leg 4-0 in extra time!!

At 3-0 with 5 minutes left, Drage missed a penalty and in the last minute Ademilson missed a one on one. Gutted. Hennessey OG won it for them too
 
I'm into my first Prem season (smashed the championship with some astute signings) and I'm sitting 3rd after 13 games. Had some very memorable results too (1-1 away to Spurs, 2-2 away to Manure) even though the squad still needs a lot of work. I've brought in Fierro for £7.25m while in the Champ (14 goals in 13 games in the Prem) and partnered him with Destro who I signed on a free and they're both on fire. I have Ademilson coming in January too. Goretzka has been a revelation in midfield for an 18 year old (bought for £4m which is looking like a steal) and Batth has been playing like Superman at the back alongside Jose Angel at left back who was the steal of the century at £1.8m. I'll post up my team tonight when I get home.

I'm scoring for fun but have trouble keeping clean sheets, I suppose that's down to my good old 4-4-2 attacking formation though.
 
How do you set your 4-4-2 up, Booz? It's something I really struggle with.
 
Had a 5.5m bid for Batth from Stoke, worth it?

Finished season, looking for two full backs and maybe a forward to help Ademilson out.
 
I've rejected £12m for him. He's class and the homegrown factor is important too.
 
Yeah decided to reject. Need an experienced right back, as I've sold Foley and left back to improve on Planas now

Starting 4th season now, bought Butland as back up for Hennessey. 3.5m rising to 6m. On loan brought in Denswil (Ajax), Gameiro (PSG) and Matavz (Arsenal).
 
For those of you who've done the small clubs to champions league, how long did it take for you to get a decent fanbase? I'm still only selling 1500 season tickets in my 2nd championship year and not even close to selling out the ground regularly. I have the lowest attendance by a huge margin, even had to expand the stadium simply for championship regulation. Really annoying that I still only have a payroll of $70k, but I understand why seeing as we don't generate enough money to spend more.
 
And here's where it all came together. A masterclass midfield performance from Leon Goretzka (his pass for the first goal has been cut out, shame as it was sublime and you just see it drop to Sako at the beginning of the first highlight), da Graca causing havoc on the right wing, and some wondrous linkup play between Fierro and Destro up front. This is probably my my enjoyable win ever on FM, all in glorious 1080p HD.

I don't know for sure but maybe some teams have a finite amount of support they can get based on their location etc.? I've heard a lot of stories of people getting massive stadiums for tiny teams when they've brought them through the leagues - not sure at what point this usually happens - but I would've thought you should be getting more than 1500 season tickets in the Champ.

I know that you have to battle with local teams for support, so I'm not worried simply for that reason. My teams reputation is still about as low as it can be for the Champ, which, fair enough. But we're actually sharing and renting the stadium from a league 2 club, if that tells you anything... Just really aggravating. I don't expect the club to be huge overnight, but I've only gone 150 season tickets to 1500 season tickets in 5 seasons, going from blue south to champ. I should be selling more regular tickets based on away fans alone, you'd think.

Yep, I can't decide whether the game's too easy or whether I've just cracked it by filling the first team with quality signings very early. I've picked up players I've known about plus a few new discoveries who are real stars in their own right and we're just battering everybody. My squad at this point is:

I've found it relatively easy to establish myself in the Premiership, finishing 8th, 5th and 4th so far but I would say you are just very good at the game, or at least your tactics are extremely effective.
