It was either PGMOL or the Premier League, I think we're the only league in Europe not using it

I always wondered what Count McBinface does when there isn't an election on. Now I know after reading this thread.

not surprisingly I think we should keep VAR but clearly has to be improved. it has clearly reduced some of the diving antics, albeit there’s still plenty going on with small contact as Newcastle demonstrated. That’s just shite refereeing and lack of understanding. They see a point of contact and think that’s enough when it suits them (when it clearly isn’t), yet somehow they can also claim Pogba going over the ball with force, studs up, catching a player on the shin as not worthy of a foul. they are serial in their hopelessness.

we’ve discussed offside enough on here. I’d be tempted to say if they need to draw lines treat as onside given I’d not trust them to get the pass release point spot on. alternatively make it only offside if the body part that touches it was in an offside position, ruling out their fetischistic infatuation with armpits and also keeping onside many incidents where a player is essentially level.

they also need to clear up dumb interpretations like the Gomes pen incident or the Salah offside goal from from last year’s Cup match.

I don’t trust them to do anything that makes the game fairer however.

VAR works fine in Europe ( I know you’ve quoted a couple of examples, but it’s 1000 times better there than here) and at the Euro’s and at the World Cup.
This is not a VAR problem, it’s a Premier League problem.
This is an absolutely ridiculous myth, largely spouted by people who only pretend to watch foreign league games. I can absolutely assure you, it is as hated by many abroad as it is here and is absolutely NOT a "Premier League problem"

I have supporters from every country with VAR, it is definitely no better in the Netherlands I can assure you! Do you watch much Eredivisie?

I watch football from all round the world. It is only England that has about 10 dodgy VAR decisions every week. Nowhere else.

10 a week 😅

I've told you a million times to stop exaggerating

Total, unadulterated, utter nonsense. In fact a Spanish follower told me in Spain, they complain that the Premier League is so much better than La Liga in terms of VAR.
I guess they have the same problem their of fans pretending to watch other leagues. I don't buy for a second you watch enough Eredivisie, Bundesliga, Ligue 1, La Liga, Eliteseiran, Austrian Bundesliga, Danish Superliga, Primeira Liga to make the call this is, in your words, "a Premier League problem"
I've run the account for years, there are versions of this campaign in other countries, there are protests. I will engage in a debate about VAR and it's 'pros' and cons, but you are talking out of your arse.

I could go on, but feels ridiculous arguing against such a ridiculous, misinformed argument. I am actually happy if you want to tell me VAR can work, you like the concept, but the idea there isn't a serious backlash and serious failings of this technology in Europe and all around the world, is simply a misinformed lie.

How the fuck can the technology fail? It’s the useless cunts using it that are the problem, Jesus Christ. You get shit drivers who crash all the time but it’s not the car’s fault is it?
VAR will show people pictures, it will always be subject to human interpretation. The reason VAR can never "work" in terms of being 100% accurate is it is still (and always will be) run by humans. Humans = human error. Just a different human not at the stadium. It might be more accurate eventually, with better trained referees.

Also, occasionally sometimes technologies do fail. Even with VAR this has happened: https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...technology-failed-during-a-league-grand-final

In the majority of car crashes a driver will be at fault, but with aviation and cars sometimes technology does actually fail. It is rare but it happens. If your computer crashes it is not necessarily your fault, it could be a technical failure.

I completely disagree with this.

I grew up with replay in all the major American leagues; I'm always going to be in favor of it. Not trying to have a go.
Yes, we know Americans don't do sport. They do adverts....

That’s not what you said though, you said “serious failings of this technology in Europe and all around the world”. What are they?

Go through every single contentious PL VAR decision discussed every week on whatever mainstream platform you like and pareto the technology failings versus the incompetence of the PGMOL.

It was you lot that pioneered adverts on shirts tbf.
TBF it was German club Eintracht Braunschweig, the first team worldwide to have Jägermeister (digestif brand) as a shirt sponsor in 1973.
