Never in it and with our squad how it is, there’s nothing really on the bench to change things up.
With the exception of Armstrong for Tolu I would have probably gone with the same team anyway.
Back to the great escape. One day I’ll watch it and he won’t reply in English and get caught out and sent to the firing squad.

Wasn’t a contest, two points it should hammer home is just how poor and weak the squad is and the clear out needs to be big one.
I appreciate we had a poor line up but we were very insipid.
If we end the season well I hope people don’t see it as good reason to keep too many of these players.

Full focus on getting relegated now. The Cup run has inspired this squad to look slightly good in recent times but that is gone now and normality can resume.

Yep. Sad we`ll lose Joao, I hope we can keep Hugo. The rest can go ( Mane will be gone anyway).

Too much to ask for J Gomes to do the job of him and Andre tonight when you've got Mane who was anonymous, Bellegarde who is poor and A Gomes who it becomes clearer with every passing game why we were able to sign him.

No smoke for Mane, he's played a lot of football without much respite, as a young player he's always going to have games he can't maintain consistency and better midfielders than him can and will be snuffed out against teams live Liverpool.

I’d happily keep Toti, Santi, Krejci, Rodrigo, and AA for next season.
Andre, Mane and J Gomes will be gone the rest need moving as they don’t offer anything. Players shouldn’t be kept because they might be ok in the Championship.

Outclassed tonight, and really really poor ball retention throughout. Disappointing to see so many heads drop after conceding. After seeing such a good midfield performance a few days ago, tonight's was frustrating. Too many players had off days, and Liverpool were far better than they were on Tuesday.

Just a bit shit all round, but at least we can concentrate on the league now...

Hugo? Bellegarde? Mosquera?

No none of them will look any better in the championship Hugo maybe but the Mos is hot headed and still a bomb scare. Gets way too much praise because he’s a bit of a character apparently. JRB I’m sorry works hard but doesn’t actually do very much so much so I still don’t know what type of player he is.
If he was playing at say Watford no one would really notice much about him outside of Watford and he certainly wouldn’t have any PL suitors.

Bellegarde has 1 good game then 3 or 4 shit ones. He would probably look really good at times in the championship and then just as anonymous as usual for a number of games afterwards.

The result I expected in Tuesday and showed what an incredible win that was. Liverpool were probably a bit complacent then and that was never going to happen twice in four days. Not sure I’ve ever witnessed three consecutive first halves with so little offered in the final third from a Wolves team.

I think you’re being generous, I’d say 1 in 6 or 7.
I think it’s highly important that people don’t get carried away by a bit of form in the last couple of weeks.
The side that starts in August needs building with a view it can be at least be competitive if it got promoted not just that’ll do to get promoted.

Atmosphere seemed pretty good when the game kicked off, but only took 5 minutes or so to undo all that, as we immediately took to defending the edge of our area.

Really disappointing follow up and performance to Tuesday. Not the starting line up I’d have picked, but easy to say after, I guess.

Several terrible performances - Mane probably the worst. We’ve ran him into the ground and Edwards needs to manage his game time better.

Bellegarde will be alright in the championship because they stsandard is very very bad

If the plan is to come between 10th-15th then keep the likes of JRB.
I agree he’ll be alright in a sense he won’t look out his depth but absolutely won’t be a game changer or make significant contributions.

Generally agree, except for the bit about Bellegarde 'works hard'. Didn't tonight. Never got out of a jog.

The atmosphere was pretty good throughout the first half tbf - was nice to see both sets of fans reciprocate with applause for the Jota chants.

The atmosphere only really died down after Salah scored
