Watch any keeper from that era and you'll see the same. The standard has increased considerably as has the expectation of what is saveable
Yeah agreed.Watch any keeper from that era and you'll see the same. The standard has increased considerably as has the expectation of what is saveable
We were superb, I thought it was finally coming together under McGhee. I was young, foolish and wrong. We battered QPR in that game from what i remember, Corica looked really good too
That was my youngests first game....he was an Osborne fan for while after that.....bloody Dichio spoiled the evening. Each time I see this I get more critical of Stowell, he's so far off his line and jumps lower than if he'd stood up!
Still, it's one of the best goals I've ever seen live.
Today marks the anniversary of one of the great 90s goals.

It’s not Bergkamp. It’s not Ronaldo. And it’s not Zidane.
It’s Danny fucking Dichio at Molineux, 1996.
Sweet mercy. What a hit, son.

Never really appreciated how good Wilkins was until he appeared for us in John Richards testimonial. He had so much time on the ball and was spraying passes for fun. I know it was a friendly but Moscow didn’t treat it as such.We were superb, I thought it was finally coming together under McGhee. I was young, foolish and wrong.
Butch Wilkins played for them (just before he got sacked as player/manager) and he was still class. He was still just about 39, people didn't wear as well in those days.

Yup... always known as the crab for passing sideways but in that testimonial game he ran the show and his forward balls were fantastic.Never really appreciated how good Wilkins was until he appeared for us in John Richards testimonial. He had so much time on the ball and was spraying passes for fun. I know it was a friendly but Moscow didn’t treat it as such.
