Everton 1-3 Wolves: The Verdict

WE HAVE A POSITIVE GOAL DIFFERENCE!! And that is after playing 8 of the 12 free hit big six matches. Superb. And the gap to eighth is looking decent, especially with Bournemouth having a dire evening, and West Ham and Leicester having very tough matches in this game week.

It is fucking ON for Europa football.

We just need to keep this up for the next month. The mid mar-apr run is brutal. Not saying we won't get points, but now is a good time to widen the gap.

2/11 -3/2
Newcastle, Bournemouth, Huddersfield, Cardiff

3/10-4/6 (oof!)
Chelsea, Arsenal, Burnley, United

The end of the season isn't too bad though!

4/13-5/4
Southhampton, brighton, watford, fulham

finish with liverpool on 5/12

Possession football isn't all that, its old hat now, Leicester proved that a couple of seasons ago

Not making any commentary about possession football outside of saying it just didn't feel like we had sub-40% or half as many attempts. It was thoroughly comfortable, just not what I had anticipated in the match report.

Arsenal and United at home aren't that brutal in the form we are in. Burnley are garbage. And we are due a win at Stamford Bridge. March could be epic as well... just got to see how the dice fly.

yes, burnley is garbage, so we will lose that game

;)

Given those fixtures then can see us somewhere in the 50+ points which could well be enough for 7th (unlikely to be above that) which would be a real achievement for the first season back &without any question our best PL finish ever (well football only started in 1992)

Given where the bottom 3 are points wise v us then it's worth throwing caution to the wind & just going for it now (same with the FA Cup really)

Right now I would fancy us against both United and Arsenal at our place.

right now i wouldn't NOT fancy us against anyone. Liverpool had to be completely on their game at ours, and we were still in that game in the 80th minute.
Genuinely, i go into every game believing we can win.

I'd fancy some points off arsenal, but united are really clicking at the moment. their form is certainly matching ours.

having said that we have a month between that group of fixtures so who knows how the winds will be blowing come gameday.

Those days are over since Nuno changed the formation, we will of course drop points to teams we shouldn't but it won't be as often

As would I.

I think we have improved massively. The formation change deals with the stupid Watford Palace and Huddersfield aberrations.

Superb today, Everton had lots of the ball but we were content just to watch them pass it sideways. They never really threatened us, though a great finish for their goal.

Donck motm, I haven't been as impressed with him as some on here but today he was awesome. Jota was also brilliant, every time we went forward he looked threatening.

Wolves fans were amazing today, at least 10, nonstop, minutes of "Nuno Santos's barmy army" in the second half.

Palace should have finished 0-0, they came for a point, their fans were going mad at Hodgson not making any subs, they'd created nothing, then they got an offside goal. The penalty wouldn't have happened if it were still 0-0 as we wouldn't have been that exposed and Benno wouldn't have made the challenge.

Just seen the goals back.

Jota's first touch leading to Dendoncker's goal is truly ridiculous.

Another top away day. I’m starting to calculate how many days of annual leave I’ll have to keep back next season to cover this predicament!

Also, cat.
Back home resting.

Couldn't have been much better, really [emoji106]

You too? Alright then, happy birthday! Har!

A marvelous day out in London, couldn't watch the game as my gf got me tickets to a Les Miserables musical. Tremendously happy with the result.

Hoping I can catch the game later on
