Everton 0-1 Wolves: Verdict Thread

Fabio's not quite been up to it but he was better today than against Brighton, so I'll be patient a while longer.

Ah right.... So after putting Everton to the sword in such a swashbuckling fashion, how do we set up for Blackpool?
I think this will give us a pretty good picture of how GON feels about the state of our first team and the way they are playing...
Or should he make wholesale changes to see how fringe players can perform?
For sure Blackpool will surely present a better challenge than the one we found on Merseyside.
Sasa should start though. Confidence high, fitness, take him off after his hat trick....

I'm not sure he was.

1 x disallowed goal (narrow offside, you can argue he should have watched the run better both times)

1 x horror miss (today's is worse, even easier chance and put it wide)

Nothing in open play

No strength

His one on one, he maybe waits a split second too long and Pickford narrows the angle well. I think it would have been saved if he got it on a line inside the far post.

The offside goal was at least a good run to get onto the end of a good cross.

Strikers go through bad spells, I'd keep playing him for a few more games. If he can bundle one in he may just go on a run. Plus his movement is decent and he gets about the pitch well.

Two shit sides.

Draw was probably fair but we rode the big moments with Sa producing some good saves and managed to take one of ours late on.

Silva is still too eager going too soon and getting caught offside, and again much like last week needs to do much better when the much easier chance comes knocking.

Pleased for Sasa.

Sa MOTM.

Constantly gives the ball away

That's how we benchmark how someone has played when specifically discussing them then, as bad as the rest? It'll be a cold day in hell before Fabio truthers admit he's not up to scratch.
I'm not sure how else you benchmark someone for each specific game.

Unless you always compare every player to peak Messi, in which case everyone is still shit.

What a rubbish game and what a great way to win!

The first half was possibly the worst half of Premier league football I've watched. Two really poor teams.

Second half was much more entertaining, though still limited on actual quality.

Absolutely delighted for Sasa, such a big goal.

Semedo and Sa were our best players today. Hwang and Fabio probably our worst - Fabio isn't even showing an ability to finish at the moment.
He finished his offside effort quite well. That's two good finishes this season albeit both offside.

Give me the result over style everyday of the week, I feel a whole lot better than I did 2 weeks ago.
Nevertheless that sounded grim and I’m still certain it’s a toss of a coin whether we stay up.

We'll stay up this season, next season we just need to hope two more out of their depth Champ teams come up, and another PL side goes to shit like Everton

Such a kaleidoscopic game! At times that was championship football that was hard to watch. However both teams had periods of attacking football and chances.

Difference I guess is Wolves managed to take theirs (thanks Sasha) and stop them (thanks Sa).

Best game of the season (year probably) for Sa. If we could just have more of those games where he looks like a calamity waiting to happen.

Baffled at what Kilman was doing sometimes, at the moment the real captain is on his right, Dawson organised the defence well.

Glad Neto put in that cross for Sasha, some of his decision making on attacking runs or shots were Traore-esque.

The role Cunha plays is probably going to be the most important going forward, if he gets injured GON has no one to replace what he does. Don't mind the Bueno/RAN combo on left if Hwang is definitely injures.

Cunha definitely had an off day. I guess he earned it though after two MOTM performances. He just never got going and suffered the same lethargy as the rest of the team. Maybe having no Nunes to help him out affected him.
