Euro 2020

Phew! That was a test, Austria really went for it and second half looked likely winners. Mancini's subs made the difference, Chiesa and Pessina with 2 beautiful goals, but wait, Austria still were not finished! Notched a goal to make for a nervy end including a worldie save from Donnarumma. 2-1 Italy, job done, need to improve for Belgium/Portugal in the quarters. Italy have done Austria, can England now dispose of the Germans? Exciting!

would love to have Chiesa at wolves, such a good player offensive and defensive..running all day

Liking Spinazzola but think both are a bit ahead of us ha

Thought Hinteregger looked decent

Dean Saunders with the classic population stat after yesterday.

Missed that, they are joined to a Football island though which is context people miss and only have marginally less population figure than Uruguay. Who arguably have been one of the better national sides over the last 20 years and whilst maybe are more of an outlier, show that population to draw from isnt the deciding factor.

I just think it’s a piss poor excuse. That is probably one of the better Welsh teams but yesterday was a horrendous day at the office. These things happen but at least we got out of the group.

Time to try and qualify for a World Cup. Wales need to at least be at the majority of the tournaments.

Anthem wasn't booed in 66 or war mentioned in the press. Presumably cos they lived through it rather than the xenophobic morons that have followed since.

He also mentioned the travelling Wales have had to do, saying Denmark hadn't had to do that but then you could counter that with the Welsh having not endured watching their teammate and friend almost die on the pitch before their very eyes

Population doesn’t guarantee anything yes you’ve got a more people but firstly if you haven’t got coaching, facilities, scouting etc in place a lot will slip through the net.
Also the grandparent rule which is used a lot, for example there’s 700k Scots living in England alone and have been for a long time so doesn’t take a rocket scientist to work out that a vast number of people qualify for various nations on the grandparent rule.

Yep, Wales had 10 players in their 26 man squad this time who weren't born in Wales. Their captain at Euro 2016 was from Wolverhampton. Every single member of the current Danish squad was born in Denmark (and their population isn't *that* much bigger). Swings and roundabouts.

Yeah as paddy says it’s a piss poor excuse and frankly an uneducated one. On the proviso big population guarantees success China should be in the later stages of every World Cup.
Again goes back to my points of Scouting, coaching, facilities, sponsorship etc come into it.

Chris Gunter is extremely unhappy with how they were only allowed a few fans in the ground yesterday.
Chris I think that really wasn’t the main issue yesterday.

Back to reality.
Ned vs Cze has been a tasty first half 0-0

Shoot man!

Made a right Horlicks of that.

Going to be a red card here

Peter Walton currently waffling until the decision is given and will then back it
