Defending is everyone's job. Goosen has been running past Silva into space and he hasn't reacted. It's not Silva's job when they are playing 2 holding mids

Santos is like most managers, he has his favourites and some massive blackspots. Its almost certainly my Wolves bias but I'm not seeing how Carvalho gets in this team over Neves. Big lumox, not very good on the ball, keep giving the ball away in dangerous areas, clumsy
It definitely is Silva’s job. Your CM isn’t going to be tracking a WB on the opposite side when there’s a switch of play. It's not Silva's job when they are playing 2 holding mids
I can see him as a RWB but remained unconvinced (understatement) about him at RB.Semedo has an unusual skill of when he should be inside he's out and when outside he's in
He's terrible at defending spending 30m on him was just a hurrendous use of funds.Semedo has an unusual skill of when he should be inside he's out and when outside he's in
That's not the way Portugal were set up though. He was meant to stay high up the pitch. He's not a player who shirks his defensive responsibilities which is why they changed it tactically, but ineffectively at half timeIt definitely is Silva’s job. Yep no one tracked Gnabry from midfield and he was drawn to him as a result. Sanches was still 30 yards upfield when the balls laid wide to Goosens. It doesn't look pretty, but Semedo ultimately has an absolutely impossible job there. Sanches and Danilo/Carvalho offering absolutely nothing.
