France squad announced.

That's very impressive. Apart from Sissoko, another con man.

Surprising Gignac is in as well I suppose given he decided to go and play in Mexico. Lacazette started slowly but has been on fire since January.

I thought Ben Arfa would be in there too and Lacazette deserves to be in there with last seasons form and then his form since January as you say. Gignac scoring goals in Mexico and Deschamps seems to like him.

I don't think it's that special, quite yet.

Big question marks over Jallet, Mangala, Digne, Evra, Lass, Sissoko and Gignac.

Benzema is a big miss, but its fair enough he's been cast aside.

If Belgium had some full backs they'd be a serious force.

Sounds like Roy will name a squad of 28 today and then whittle it down after the first two friendlies.

Rashford will be in the Prov Squad but unless there is a mass of injuries, he is just taking part in the training/Friendlies for experience

Hart, Forster, Heaton

Bertrand, Cahill, Clyne, Rose, Smalling, Stones, Walker

Alli, Barkley, Delph, Dier, Drinkwater, Henderson, Lallana, Milner, Sterling, Townsend, Wilshere

Rashford,, Kane, Vardy, Rooney, Sturridge

Hart, Forster, Heaton

Bertrand, Cahill, Jags, Clyne, Rose, Smalling, Stones, Walker

Alli, Barkley, Delph, Dier, Drinkwater, Henderson, Lallana, Milner, Sterling, Townsend, Wilshere

Rashford,, Kane, Vardy, Rooney, Rooney, Sturridge

Trying to trick the system and give himself an extra chance of going?

ENGLAND SQUAD ANNOUNCED

Goalkeepers: Hart, Forster, Heaton

Defenders: Bertrand, Clyne, Cahill, Rose, Smalling, Stones, Walker

Midfielders: Alli, Barkley, Dier, Delph, Drinkwater, Henderson, Lallana, Milner, Sterling, Townsend, Wilshere

Strikers: Kane, Rashford, Rooney, Sturridge, Vardy

Some very surprising inclusions in there - Townsend ahead of Antonio? Rashford? Delph??!!

Henderson & Milner were of course, always going to make it. Looks like Jags has missed out as we have Dier who can cover there if we're desperate. Walcott the other big casualty.

Delph is only there as a contingency in case Wilshere and Henderson go pop but it should be Noble instead.

He'll be the first one scratched assuming the above are fit.

I feel it'll be between Townsend and Drinkwater for the final spot.

Foster will no doubt re-retire from international duty in the next couple of hours...

Yeah Delph and Rashford I doubt will go unless players are short of fitness/get injured. Great experience for Rashford. Then Townsend I think will be the third one to drop out Someone often gets injured mind.

Delph was used quite a bit in qualifiers and if Henderson/Wilshere aren't fit he might be needed I suppose. He knows how our diamond works as he can play on the left of it. He won't be going anyway.

Totally agree it should have been Noble. Roy has completely contradicted himself there, by saying he is taking Townsend over Walcott because the latter doesn't play regularly. But then to include someone like Delph is an injury prone, rotatable midfielder himself, ahead of someone like Noble - well, that just doesn't make sense.

Rashford, Delph + Townsend to drop out for me.

Likely starting 11 for opener?

Hart

Rose
Smalling
Cahill
Clyne

Wilshere
Dier

Rooney
Alli
Lallana

Kane

If I had the choice I'd keep Rashford in over Sturridge, although thats just wishful thinking.

The Noble decision seems strange and the inclusion of Townsend I can only presume is his previous good performances for England - this generations Darius Vassell

Like I said before, Delph has played (and done OK) on the left for us in a diamond. Not sure Noble would ever play there, even though I'd rather have Noble based on form and ability.

Agree with that team. Maybe Sterling for Lallana if he can find himself some form in the friendlies.
