Heard that tale at the weekend and thought what a shitty story (true or not) to tell about someone who couldnt defend themselves. Thought it was just my hatred of Saunders that was clouding my judgement but glad to see I am not alone.
 
I'm not surprised by this, not only did the story seem extremely fanciful (it wasn't funny either, but that's my opinion) but he has form for this, his interviews with us were peppered with absolute bullshit and look at the nonsense he peddles about how he had no chance of saving us (or indeed any of the other teams he's relegated). He's pondlife as well as being the worst British manager of the last 30 years.
 
I thought it was quite amusing when I heard it but I don't understand why he's seemingly bullshitted most of it? Very low IMO.
 
The man's just an idiot. He's probably quite thick and someone told him a drunk Brian Clough story would be funny so he embellished one and thought he would get away with it. Pond life would be a complement.

I just thought even if it were true, having a laugh at Clough's alcoholism was a pretty low dig, as the Guardian piece points out he still has family who I'm pretty sure don't see it as a source of comedy. Making it up for a cheap laugh is beyond the pale.
 
It's about time some other idiot gave him a managerial role. That's the only time he's funny. Unless it's your club he's wrecking of course

He won't get another managerial job. It'd only be the likes of Albion Rovers rather than West Bromwich Albion that would look at him now, and he was already spending tons of time doing after dinner stuff when he was at Chesterfield. He knows that there's an inexplicable market out there that wants to listen to his made up stories, whereas no-one other than the truly desperate would want him to manage their football club. Chuck in his ego and he wouldn't take anything miles down the pyramid.

I know managers get away with shit records for ages, but his is so bad now that he doesn't have a prayer.

He probably got to 4 up front thinking that Oxlade-Chamberlain is 2 players - seeing Saunders criticise Wenger is like King Herod putting forward his thoughts on childcare.
