Crystal Palace 3-2 Wolves: Verdict Thread

Absolutely wank from Gazza the Great.

Lg1 manager who can fuck off.

Whatever his coaching staff say at HT is actively damaging us.

Dreadful tactics, dreadful football, can't motivated his players and it's completely out of his depth.

He'll be sacked by the end of the Villa game or we'll go down.
100% on GO that one.

1-1 take off a forward for a midfielder....struggle, go behind...flip the swap.
I would be annoyed if MDT's manager pulled that level of genius.

Before that...meh and as deadly as a team of Willian Jose's. Faced with an organised outfit...not a clue really. Neat and tidy at best.
Only plus side today was finding out Cunha can head a ball.

If GO fails (spoiler...he will) we will get SD Jeff back in charge so strap in for some random Mendes appointment in a few months.

What a strange game. As comfortable as I've seen us for a long time when Palace score from nowhere. Deserved equaliser and then should have gone on to at least draw. 2nd goal killed us though and it all went to shit.

We were fairly comfortable up until about 70 minutes and then Traore’s sub handed them the incentive. Really poor.

What in gods name happened second half? Utterly baffling stuff and tactical changes when we got level. Seriously think he thought “I’ll take that” subs were a joke and actively hindered us at 1-1.
Whilst we’ve got problems in front of goal the bigger issue is at the back. Kilman just isn’t a defender in a back 4, Semedo and RAN always error prone and Sa is just Sa. 8 conceded in 4 games is of huge concern.
basically we’re are shit in both boxes, very decent elsewhere but clueless where it matters.
We got away with one last week but didn’t today, said last week the result doesn’t even paper over the cracks and that we’re still in deep shit.

Kilman is going to replace Joe Mason on the "my god why did we not take that offer!?" list.

Its worrying how quickly our defensive structure falls apart. I am going to stick up for the fullbacks a bit as whilst they werent fantastic they did at least contribute to the possession, even if that wasn't effective overall as a team, they are still asked to do quite a lot and offer and get on the ball at least. The CB pairing is as big a worry as it was this time last year.

Lemina is definitely not an 8.
In the system we played for most of the match that's the role we're asking of him and Gomes, though. Yes, slight variances in who's getting forward and who's sitting, but they both are asked to do all things and cover wide/forward areas. It's leaving a massive gap between them and the CBs which allows the opposition to break our press with really simple passes into central areas.

We were 1-0 down at 56 minutes and been rancid for the entire 2nd half.

Not disagreeing, just think settling for 1-1 was the nail in the coffin. As I said, really poor tactics and reactive decisions which he attempted to reverse at 2-1 down. It was appalling.

You are Gary O'Lage and I claim my £5

Clueless, absolutely clueless.

Apart from a massive gap in quality between the 2 CB pairings, 2 comfortably better full backs, Palace having a far more effective front 4, a better goalkeeper and we'll drilled dynamic side opposed to a clunky unimaginative collection of individuals.
I disagree. They have a better, far more experienced manager.

There wasn’t much between the two sides at half time. With a competent manager in charge who could react to an issue that seemed obvious to most of us fans watching, we could have easily won the match.

It wasn't it was a good two minutes after. The match is over, there's no need for any more chat as it's just cross posting with the verdict thread.
The match was still on “live” here when you did it. We are always about two minutes behind you. Stop being so fucking hasty. There is zero fucking need and it seriously is shit.

We weren’t comfortable. We just had a lot of meaningless possession. Palace looked dangerous every time they counter attacked.

There’s also zero tempo to our play. We’re a decent pressing team but so cumbersome when building attacks and it just lets the opposition get back in shape.

They bullied us in that last 20 minutes, they were fitter and stronger, some of that is on the manager, some isn't
