Coronavirus

It's like one last chance not to be locked down.

And people won't take it, because they are fucking dicks.

By Wednesday we will all be stuck at home and wondering how to access the money from Sunak to avoid going bankrupt.

I don't agree with the Governments timescales, but theyre working to some, and any lockdown will be as part of whatever roadmap they already have to cause the least impact on the economy.

Maybe Boris really is stupid enough to believe that if he asks the British public to be a good egg and play the game, and he uses just the right level of obscure language they'll do what he asks without question, but I doubt it.

A guy I worked with years ago has just posted a picture on fb showing boxes and boxes of thousands of parts for the assembly of respirators to go out tomorrow, there is some good stuff going on....company is Protolabs in Telford (I did a few weeks temping there a while ago)

Germany are only calling it a coronavirus death if there are no other factors and the virus must have caused it. Whereas everyone else goes for it's a corona-related death with an underlying health issue.

Sorry, I've seen that wrriten a lot on here and it's kind if doing the rounds on social media. I fact checked and its not true. The Robert Koch institute have reiterated they are countin every death where the dead had the virus as a Corona death. So either they are lying, or its false news

That's fine. I had read it a lot recently and did a trawl to try and find proof and no dice, so I will happily defer to your greater knowledge and assume that something is being done right in Germany. Hopefully from that our own health services may learn something valuable.

From what I have read the Germans geared up very differently to anywhere else in the West, will be difficult to emulate. Also they have a lot of younger infected, many of whom returned from skiing holiday in Italy.

Panic buying of Big Macs and 1 Fillet-o-Fish about to start as McDonalds announce they are closing all their restaurants by 7pm tomorrow

I went to Maccys drive through yesterday for my last Grand Big Mac! They said a couple of days ago that they were operating on DT and deliveries only.

I did notice the car in front of me paying by cash, meaning the guy on the till had to touch hands with them to give them their change. And in order to pay cashless I had to grab the machine as well.

It’s a good statement from them. Risk of transmission at McDonald’s drive through probably 0.000001%. But given McDonald’s massive influence on society this will hopefully deliver a message to people about the severity of the matter

Yes love, I applaud your sheer altruism here :icon_lol:

I think I might just give up on people other than those I already know and like. They're not to be trusted.

Decathlon closing all stores from tomorrow evening too.

Full lockdown incoming....

Good stuff, no more bags of their crap thrown out of 20 year-old Audi and Honda car windows in our lane, hopefully starbucks, Costa and Red Bull follow suit or preferably go bust.

What's the reality of this full lockdown likely to look like?

All non-essential industries shut down with employees working from home until they run out of things to do? No non-essential travel is guess? So only leaving the house if you work in an essential industry or to get food?

The whole thing just seems so far removed from normal life as to be difficult to take the thought of it seriously, it'd be a hell of a undertaking to police it.

If you're in France now you have to have a permit to be out and about. Either paper based (the French love their pointless and innumerable bureaucratic documents) or I believe you can get it via an app for those of us who don't live in 1991. Don't have it and don't have a valid reason to be wandering around, you get fined and taken back home.

Over 4,000 people got fined on day one.

No non-essential travel has just been announced.

Apparently to keep people off Snowdon and "self-isolating" on the piss in Barmouth.

NHS nurse and two consultants now badly infected with C-19.
Worried for my nephew who is a doctor at New Cross (ENT) I believe.
Only been qualified a year or so. Was talking to his mom a week or so ago, she said he was upset as they'd 'lost someone'.
Messaged him last night, he said the last few days have been crazy.
He could never of imagined what was coming when he qualified.
Some have greatness thrust upon them.

Going to Wiltshire tomorrow for a 'WTF do we do about Covid19' meeting.

I'd have thought a video conference would have been a great first step, but there you go.

Off to work in the morning and I guess we have to then consider whether our journey and work is actually essential. Tough call for the MD. The bloke is a personal friend, his kids used to play football with Micro, and I like him a lot. He is doing everything he can to make sure those in the warehouse and factory can work safely and earn their money. Before Sunak announced his pledge, he said he would top up SSP with money from his own pocket. Proper good man trying to keep his business going. Sadly, I reckon by Wednesday we won't be allowed to come in and work for him.

Wonder when places like b&q and currys will shut down?.. (probaly wouldn't affect screwfix, but personally, id love to see those cunts go for good)
Wasn't mcdonald's touch screens found to have traces of faeces on them recently... Probaly for the best they fucking close.

Screwfix and B&Q are all part of the same company - Kingfisher. I know as I was the deputy company secretary there until 2007
