Coronavirus

A new variant has been discovered in London and Kent and its more transmissible than the previous version but we aren't going to close schools in the last week before Christmas. If any school does so we will take them to court and force them to open.

or on the return to school after Christmas.

Schools are safe, schools are safe, schools are safe, schools are safe but 6 hours later - we are closing all schools.
That's when they let all the kids back to school for ONE day after Christmas.

Then closed them all again.

There are no words.

Public schools were allowed to closed early for Christmas that year too. Get themselves safely into their country holiday homes for the festive season then announce a travel ban out of London. Cut to scenes of people cramming themselves on the last trains to leave London and spread this lovely new variant around the country....

saw that Randox Holdings had their results out for Yr 2 Covid (to June 2022).
not gonna read the report but just looking at the transformation in their results is pretty astonishing.
here's a rough analysis of the incremental results compared to their 2020 accounts which were, admittedly an 18 month period. But as the Covid work is clearly much higher margin than their normal stuff, if the increments aren't all down to Covid I'd presume the Covid stuff would have been at even higher margins than my calcs

Basically on c £800m of extra revenue over 2 years they made £466m net profit, though in that time they did spend £62m on intangibles and fixed assets, possibly for new covid test facilties. The Company paid £250m of free cash upwards and repaid a bank loan of c £45m.
Net assets June 2020 £45m, Net assets June 2022 £420m. Nice work if you can get it.

Sunak didn't back up messages either when changing phone allegedly.
Also the brass neck on Johnson for losing faith in hancock cos he "gets excited and makes stuff up".

How dreadfully inconvenient that the PM and the chancellor happen to have lost messages from a time wheres tens of thousands of lives and tens of billions of pounds were unnecessarily lost because of terrible decisions and a lack of care and morality

And of course GCHQ have no trace of the messages of the Prime Minister and Chancellor of the Exchequer. Sounds really believable.

Booked in for both Covid booster and winter flu jab at local medical centre tomorrow.

Had my flu jab last Saturday (just before the match) was surprised to get an email yesterday to tell me I was eligible for a covid jab, thought I was too young but apparently anyone who is 65 before March 24 can have one. Wonder if I can get in 9pm Sunday to ensure a win against Villa?

Just had a call from the old man’s care home, he’s tested positive, put into isolation, he was 97 yesterday, I’m a bit worried.

Hope he's OK Trev. Are you allowed to see him or have they isolated him?

No, I was with him yesterday for his birthday, I feel fine at the moment, I can’t see him for a couple of weeks, he’s got no underlying health issues, so hopefully he’ll be ok, as long as they don’t send him into hospital.
Last time they did that it nearly killed him, I’ve told them under no circumstances should he be sent to hospital.

Had my Covid and flu jabs on Saturday. Still feel as rough as fuck.

Had my jabs on Saturday. Covid arm a bit out of sorts, sore and joints/limbs aching on Sunday. Been fine ever since. Funny how it affects people in different ways.

You made the right decision there. Get well soon.
