Coronavirus

Plus people already abandoning masks.
Lots of people don't have/use the app anyway, so the number could be higher. Cases are definitely going to go up, the hope is that the hospitalisations and deaths don't go up so sharply. Data over the last few weeks suggests that should be the case.

Noticed recently the rate of vaccinations has reduced quite a lot, only 60,374 firsts today, not sure if thats because of low supply, reluctance in take up or maybe prioritising second doses?

Over 50% of our office got pinged to self isolate due to one lad getting it. They didn’t get pinged until the next week though.

Loads of people at work, myself included, deleted the app. Simply can’t afford two weeks on SSP. I’d be fucked.
SSP in this country is an absolute joke, particularly compared to the rest of Europe. I had to have three weeks off in 2019 because of knee surgery, and I took one week as holiday.
In these circumstances it's a disgrace that people who possibly aren't even infected have to put themselves in that situation.

My mate got his ping from Saturday today. We we’re all together for a stag do and the only time we had contact with others for 15min + was Go-Karting in the briefing room, where he was the closest to the other party but not particularly close, a 20 minute taxi or a restaurant where we had the room to ourselves…

He’s got to have the next 6 days off work despite negative tests (and he regularly tests anyway) but at least he can still come to the wedding next Saturday.

In England 87% have had a first dose, 67% two. Slightly higher in Wales and Scotland slightly lower in Norn Ireland.

I think 87% is way higher than people expected at the outset and double digits higher than the US

It's a great take up, very impressive. 70% was the goal, so very near that on double doses.

It's 87% of those over 18 etc etc

It's still really bloody good

My mate got pinged two days after going to Wimbledon last week. I was with him the day he got pinged but luckily he tested negative so I didn't have to isolate.

Yes. It was a response to your post asking how many over 18s have been vaccinated. Under 18s not currently being able to be vaccinated.

You don’t have to. The ping is advisory. Test and trace contact is mandatory. I’m still staggered people have the app.

He got told he should isolate for 9 days. I guess that is a ping.

To lessen the spread? You don't HAVE to isolate, but if you do there will be less spread. Obviously it's easier for some than others, but some people do feel a bit of social responsibility around following the advice from the app.
