Coronavirus

I thought the latest was Australia keeping borders closed until June 21 and hotel quarantine possibly extended until start 22?
Been a few weeks since I looked but that was just what was being reported at that point. As with everyone during the pandemic, things can change quickly

We're planning on going Dec/Jan to Oz. Cancelled 20/21 flights all rebooked. Qantas pushing for international flights and Covid 'passports'. Oz predicting their vaccination programme to be completed Oct 21.

Just got a USA trip from last May to go on. Thats booked in for August 31st this year now.
We totally cancelled a USA trip last year and got a refund. Looking forests to being able to look at going again. Where are you off to?

Atlanta - Nashville - Memphis (chucking in some extra trips to Athens, GA for REM purposes and Lynchburg for alcohol purposes)

The rebooking rather then cancelling seems to have paid off. Got better seats for less money and all the hotel costs have fallen. When the road map was announced, checked the cost of the flights we are on and they had jumped into need to sell my organs to pay for them levels. No doubt we will have rearrange again and we will lose the bonus of the seats and money saving.

Don't forget a pit stop in Chattanooga! After all it's on the way to Lynchburg and Nashville!!

I’ve yet to even looking at rebooking anything. Even for the UK. After being stung last year and losing money a couple of times I’m reluctant to fork out yet.

We are planning on a stop there on the drive to Nashville from Atlanta

Delta have been pretty good on the flights and we did all our hotels and car hire via pay on collection, so lost nothing there.

My wife was taking her Mum to Prague last summer and the hotel refused to refund as their Country wasn't in lockdown. Fuckers

Anything I had booked has already been pushed to 2022. Not intending on going anywhere abroad this year, I'll just get a few weekend breaks in if I can.

EU Nations, read and then be fully fucking ashamed of yourselves (you will have to take a break from blaming others and throwing toys everywhere)

USA Astrazenica Trials (which will now lead to it being approved there)
79% Effective at stopping Covid Symptons
100% Effective in preventing serious illness
20% of people used in the trials - aged over 65
No issues or links to blood clots

All that on the day surveys in France, Germany and a few other nations show that huge amount of people think the vaccine is unsafe due to the messaging from their Governments.

My dad has a weekly row with his brother in Italy about this, my uncle is convinced the AZ vaccine is dangerous and should not be used. My dad (who has had the AZ vaccine) tries to convince him using facts that it is not but just ends up angry and frustrated

Had my first jab last month, rough 24 hours after then all good. Slightly worrying all the EU posturing about vaccines. Not helping their cause at all in my view.

I can relate. stepdaughter, who used to be quite thoughtful, is getting more and more into conspiracy theories. we're hoping that she'll come round eventually. example of a recent text chat:
"everyone I know who has had it was seriously ill"
me "how many people?"
"EVERYONE!"
me "my mom and dad had it, no adverse effects. you know them"
"I'm sure they were a bit ill"
me "nope. also, your sister who is a care worker had it - again, no side effects"
"everyone has been ill. blood clots"
me "well over 15 million people have received the vaccine. If there were mass blood clots, it would be abundantly clear now"
"everyone..."

It seems everyone is about 3 people on facebook.
She's now refusing to complete the census as she doesn't feel "they need to know all this about me" even when we've explained it is very basic information.

Nice of the Government to introduce fines for those who leave the country without good reason unless of course you own a property abroad that you rent out. You can go and 'prepare' the property for rent whilst no doubt catching the sunshine whilst you are there - also known as the Stanley Johnson loophole.

One rule for one and all that...

Own a property or are planning to buy one. So book a meeting with an estate agent and you're golden.

If anyone wants a trip to the USA we are currently remodeling our house for sale in July. I'm sure that falls under the regulations!

Saw a video on Instagram this morning of Willian Jose having his haircut. Is there a loophole if you're a professional football to be able to get a trim?

There was one about people who appear on TV being allowed to have haircuts and footballers using it but a month or so ago they said it didn't apply to footballers but most seem to be having their hair cut professionally
