The boss of Serco (Rupert Soames) is being economical with the truth when discussing the profits for the year. He's deducting losses made from areas affected by Covid restrictions from the profits made through winning government covid contracts.

Masks are there to protect others though - if teachers only come into contact with others wearing masks then they are protected.

In primary schools neither the teachers nor the pupils are wearing masks in most classrooms.

I think teachers can wear a mask if they choose to but it’s not mandatory.

My wife works as a one to one with a kid with special needs and can’t wear a mask as it would freak the kid out too much. Thankfully she was able to get her first vaccine last weekend.

Edit - so you want them to have more PPE (there is literally nothing beyond a mask), but they don’t wear the PPE they do have.

They don’t wear them because the government says not to. Apparently, it is perfectly safe to sit in a classroom of 30 kids from different families without any masks or social distancing.

Had my first jab yesterday. Astra Zeneca. Pretty savage reaction last night - shaking and shivering so much I couldn't tap pass code into my phone. Absolutely wiped out today. Only silver lining is I didn't have strength to watch the cricket...

Less than a week for the budget and it is rumoured Eat Out So We Can Blame You is coming back after the 21st June and every adult in the UK will get a £150 High Street Voucher to spend on anything but food/drink (Kids £75).
Also rumoured that duty on alcohol will be lowered for Pubs/Restuarants and to counter it a charge put on Alcohol to increase the price of it in shops. So July 2021 the month we all buy new clothes, get plastered and eat out so much the new clothes don't fit us.

Weird - seems to affect everyone differently - had mine nearly 3 weeks ago and just had a slightly sore arm & a runny nose for a couple of days. Annoying, but not debilitating.

I had aches/pains/shivers for a couple of days. Not enough to wipe me off my feet but had to load up on paracetamol and ibuprofen. Most people who I speak to who’ve had the az vaccine say something similar.

Couldn't do anything yesterday, but 6/30 last night it went as suddenly as it had come on. Wouldn't say I feel 100% this morning - but you never do after a day in bed - but I'm nearly there. At one point yesterday I was worrying about being recovered for the game tomorrow night...

It varies a lot person to person, most of my friends have had it with very few reactions. A 80 year old mate had it with none at all, his brother had his the next day and it put him in bed for 3 days, both had the AZ one.
Guy came to service our boiler the other day had the Pfizer jab and it gave him bad headaches for 2 days, his missus had the AZ with no reaction

Honestly, LJ, the shaking was the worst I have ever experienced. Came on really quickly - maybe in two or three minutes - lasted 15 minutes and then switched itself off. If you'd told me I'd got medieval sweating sickness, or a Martian had winged me with his death ray, I'd have believed you. I think only conclusion you can draw from all the above is that everyone's reaction is different.

The speed they are whipping through the groups should avoid any major issues on that front. Fully expect every adult to have been offered their 1st dose before the current target of July.
