Coronavirus

It’s really hard because on the one side is complete safety (no one ever goes outside), and on the other is the economic and mental health factor (everyone back to complete normality), so whichever way they go, they get criticised by one side, and normally the other for not going far enough.

you’d imagine that means they get nervous about making any sort of decisions because it’s just another round of hammerings in the media.

im really hoping primary schools open fully, and outdoor sports are allowed again, would make a huge difference to my life.

it is all about the weather and seasons for me. if we have a decent spring, and weather similar to last year, it seems pretty clear that outdoors you're pretty safe. transmission risk is low. plus it is a lot easier to distance.
it is indoor stuff that contains the risks.
Noticed on my Sunday morning walk today there was definitely an increase of kids, parents & grandparents out as groups. Coupled with the sun out for what seemed the first time this year it improved my mood from what it has been the past couple of weeks (Wolves winning may have helped slightly as well)

The Times been told/guessing the roadmap will be this tomorrow. Everything after the 8th not set in stone, so depending on how the vaccines are working or not, the things can come forward or be pushed back out. Makes no mention of UK holidays but it is likely to open back up when pubs/restuarants can allow people in again.
Would also say if this is the general plan and the Government pushing for the Euros to be hosted over here, we could be back in Molineux to some degree for next season.

March 8:
Schools
Kids outdoor sport
Golf + Tennis

Early April:
Non-essential retail
Outdoor pubs + restaurants

Mid April:
Gyms

May:
Cinemas + Theatre
Indoor pubs + restaurants

August:
Foreign holidays
Clubs

Data from Scotland

"A study shows that by the fourth week after a first dose, the Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines reduced the risk of hospitalisation by up to 85% and 94% respectively."

Which isn't too far off the data coming out of Israel. So the 2nd dose booster should push those %'s up even more.

Watching the CRG chairman on BBC Politics.

How do we end up with these fucking idiotic *RG lunatics having so much power in this country.

A few places are that far ahead they are now inviting people over 40 in.
They are doing overweight here too - hopefully just a sign of very good progress, rather than a load of anti-vaxxers.

Take up rate in areas with higher BAME residents is lower so presumably offering it elsewhere lower down the age range.

There is a need to encourage people in those groups to take this otherwise the national coverage will have big gaps.

Johnson turning up looking like that for any engagement, let alone a pretty important one like this will never cease to piss me off. Sort yourself out, you cunt.

So looking at June for every restriction to be removed as long as things go to plan (apart from Foreign Travel and Night Clubs)

Having been shafted by the rule of 6 for so long, this last bit could almost bring me to tears.

Two households will also be permitted to get together, whether that is six people or more, so families in different circumstances can meet.

Second straight birthday in lockdown for me, this time by one day (if all that holds), and it's my 40th.

Thanks Boz, great memories to be made there, can't wait. Glad you completely wasted months of work last time out, top job.

Review on Foreign Travel 12th April.

Some seem to think, with Vaccine Passports that will reopen to some degree from 17th May.

Looking into June seems a million miles away but also feels good to see clear steps out of this. I could be going on my July 2020 holiday this year (!) as if this was all just a bad dream.

17th May until I can go and visit my mate who lives alone and works from home. Three more months of fucking lockdown basically. Brilliant. And no, driving 20 mins so we can stand outside for half an hour isn't the same.

I imagine plenty of the public will see these dates and think "fuck that, I want to be able to visit my family and friends".

They will be same ones that have said fuck that from the start

Had to bin a full family holiday for a big one last year - not sure that I am going to have one this year either (though in my head I am still the same age I was in 2019) - given up worrying about the date now so will just do something when I can - time & date is an artificial concept anyway.

Not really. I've always followed the rules but the prospect of three more months of this has me questioning whether I want to bother any more.

It's November since my mate had anyone other than his mum and dad visit him, or him be able to go anywhere than a walk outside alone. He'll have gone a full 6 months with no contact with any friends or work colleagues, or his two sisters and nephews/nieces. It really takes the piss.
