Coronavirus

I'm actually fast coming to the conclusion that the world would be an even more dangerous place if the Proles started thinking for themselves. I do not think society has a hope in hell of any form of social justice or an end to famine, war etc.

The way you look down on, and want to think for the proles comes across as a bit derogatory really.

I do care that people starve to death and die in wars but my realisation is that some sort of collective conscious to change this is not possible. Orwell presented the Proles in quite disparaging terms but I suppose it all depends on how you interpret his intentions.

Comparing the reopening of schools in the UK with Denmark.

A more relevant comparison might be the Netherlands perhaps? And this is particularly disingenuous considering we haven't actually *reopened* schools yet:

2) • Denmark reopened schools when it had significantly lower infection and death rates.
Denmark 95 deaths per 1 million of the population
UK 513 deaths per 1 million of the population.

Just wonder how many will have to give up work or get sacked because they cannot leave their children at school or find a childminder. You'll find schools will be closed at the slightest sign of a symptomatic child or teacher. Interesting times ahead .. prepare for the soup kitchens boys.

So we have 3m tests but 2m people tested?

I don't understand this, genuinely.

There's no need for the first number without context. I guess the argument is they've sent the tests out and there a million tests either sitting round or have been used and they were faulty or administered incorrectly. They don't explain that first figure very well unfortunately.

Sky News now running a "tale of the tape" for the "not Boris" who is speaking today.
The things I didn't need to know are where he went to uni, what he studied and that he "previously tested positive for C19"

A lot of people have been tested more than once, especially health workers, but I'd be very surprised if that accounted for all of that difference.

Good to see the NHS surcharge for NHS and careworkers is being binned. However, they can drop the bullshit that Boris has done this after his experience during his treatment for COVID-19. That seems to be the way it is being explained, just 24 hours after Boris was saying no chance, it makes us a lot of money. What has actually happened is his own MP's were going to rebel so he had to back down.

Yeah thats good news, don't really give a shit why they've changed their mind as long as they've done the right thing in the end

Wondering if the schools don't open soon, how the usual innoculation programmes for kids are going to be carried out?
(For things much more dangerous like Measles, Mumps and Rubella).

Don't know about schools programmes but my 14 month old grandson had some of his a couple of weeks ago at the doctors

I think over here some are still administered at school, so maybe it's different in the UK these days.
I know they are given at much younger age than they used to be.

All this boris and the grateful for the nhs nonsense,he just reminds me of a badge kissing footballer who moves on for more money first chance they get, only Boris will be slashing the nhs funding as soon as he thinks he can get away with it
