Coronavirus

Corona virus is starting to destroy my finances. Shares tanking, currency tanking, tenants shop going out of business, zero clients & work. Hope it doesnt last long.

People are dying. You have spotted that haven't you, you selfish idiot?

Hold on, that's harsh. People can be worried about how it is affecting their own lives and still be aware of the wider consequences. Thats not being selfish is it?

Not convinced with herd immunity as a strategy in the slightest. We'd be subjecting about 6m to severe symptoms and you can get re-infected after about a month anyway.

That's pretty shocking if you can get re-infected a month later

I mean, that inplies you'd never be immune

That’s BHA v Arsenal off Saturday, plus Arsenal played West Ham Saturday so surely puts our game in doubt on Sunday to

Under the current instructions West Ham now need to self isolate, so yep it's a huge doubt. Same goes for Pompey.

PL and EFL really have no choice but to pause the league for a month.

I’m glad my train tickets to London on Sunday are refundable. Oh wait...no they’re not. Another 100 quid up the swanny.

Theyll have to suspend the league. Players in isolation and now a manager confirmed.

Nobody knows if you can get reinfected do they? The Epidemiology hasn't been established yet, the one case they have recorded provided no conclusive proof and the consensus is that the lady in question didn't clear the virus at all.

The 'expert' on 5 live this afternoon was dubious about the reports of people being re-infected.

Yep resume early April, PL can’t possibly resume now. Apparently an emergency meeting tomorrow by the PL. Expect at the very least Watford v Leicester, BHA v Arsenal and West Ham Wolves postponed more likely the whole program suspended.

The peak will arrive in the next few weeks, in which case more footballers will become infected. If it is suspended, I can't see any prospect of a resumption in the next three months.

Why wouldn't it be resumed after a 28 day period?

The peak is still to come. Players will be spending time at home and with families. Kids will go to school, contract the virus, pass it on. If a few players or staff members have it now surely this will increase in the coming weeks when more people in the country catch it.

The peak is supposed to be 3 months off

That's the bit I don't understand, if we smooth the curve out as the experts have said then the peak is stretched to 3 months. In which case we aren't 4 weeks behind Italy. Italy may not be even relevant yet, it may be a complete outlier.

As a multitude of experts have said today, we actually don't know. If we followed China then their peak was 8 weeks after first diagnosis and 3 months from start to finish. Others less, others more.

There is so much conjecture right now, I guess it's good to read all the data not just the press.

As I understand it, the peak is 10-14 weeks away and as we want to flatten the curve it will be another 3 months after that before we see a significant improvement

On news night just, one expert broadly agreeing with what our government is doing and another saying we must be more draconian, more social distancing now......difficult to know whats best

No way they can resume the season based on this, only way around it is void the season or award 1 point for every remaining game. Reduce relegation and promotion to two teams not three and scrap the play offs and start again in August.
Possibly play out the CL and Europa at end of June in one of games.
