That's the bit I don't understand, if we smooth the curve out as the experts have said then the peak is stretched to 3 months. In which case we aren't 4 weeks behind Italy. Italy may not be even relevant yet, it may be a complete outlier.

As a multitude of experts have said today, we actually don't know. If we followed China then their peak was 8 weeks after first diagnosis and 3 months from start to finish. Others less, others more.

There is so much conjecture right now, I guess it's good to read all the data not just the press.

But China basically shut down everywhere which isn't happening or going to happen here any time soon.

The Chinese shut down factories and told people to stay home and only go out if necessary for two weeks. They have given all citizens a QR code which needs to be scanned to get into buildings (proper 1984 shizzle) so they can track the virus and how it spreads.

China is now back open with restrictions.

My daughter works answering the 111 calls and she says at the moment they are swamped with calls taking up to 45 minutes to get through, She says people are totally confused and are calling the only number they know that might help them.
this is not in the least surprising, so maybe more local test centres or advice centres has to be a huge consideration.
We have a couple of cases in my main town, and tomorrow i simply have to go, but i ain't looking forward to it. I can't get a mask here for love nor money, and i am not sure that my main town will have any, so it's a bit of the feint heart never fucked a pig syndrome really.

Portuguese Government cracked down and ordered the close of all shops. A second meeting is taking place right now to close everything not essential.

Belgian Govs have closed down everything. Restaurants, bars, schools, pubs, etc; Everything is either postponed or cancelled altogether. Source.

PL have no choice really

Arsenal and Chelsea are now joined by Everton in putting their whole club into self isolation.

They will announce a 2 week suspension today, which will effectively become a 3 week one due to the international break (where no games will be played) then I guess they judge it week by week after that.
