Coronavirus

Get used to it if we have to go into battle triage.

If your outlook isn't as good as the patient in the next bed to be assessed and there is one ventilator to give out, then that's going to be it.

Guardian awards of the season so far.

https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...er-league-season-so-far-sadio-mane-danny-ings

Best young player: Adama Traoré, Wolves
Although he was only 23 when the season started, lots of people had abandoned hope of this Spaniard becoming a reliable presence in the Premier League. But now he is its most thrilling player, getting viewers out of their seats as often as he puts opponents on their backsides. His improvement has been a joy to watch. He used to be accused of being rash with his crosses and tactically clueless, but now he is a regular supplier of clever passes and goals and can torment opponents from any of the three positions in which Nuno Espírito Santo has played him this season. From being a player who looked to be going nowhere extremely fast, he has matured into an unstoppable force.

Best match: Wolves 3-2 Manchester City
It was a Friday night under the Molineux floodlights and you could have got drunk on the atmosphere alone. But that was no excuse for Ederson, who got himself sent off after 12 minutes for clattering into Diogo Jota outside the area. At the other end Rui Patrício saved Raheem Sterling’s penalty – twice, owing to intervention by VAR – but could not stop the forward from putting City in front from the rebound. In a contest of exhilarating intensity and rarefied quality Sterling put City 2-0 up with a cute dink. Then Wolves, for whom Traoré was phenomenal, came storming back, with Matt Doherty plundering a rousing victory in the 89th minute and effectively ending City’s title defence.

Cycled to work I this morning(m an essential worker apparently) no cars passed me at all, driving about to do renal runs hardly anybody about,it's like that will smith film* out there.
The only odd thing was coming off Ashmore park, down linthouse lane and halfway down stubby lane there was a smoky smelling haze then I just rode out of it and could see it behind me,hope it wasn't like James Herbert's the fog

One plus point to being a bit cooped up.

Micro has decided to do a boat load of home study online and I am proud of him for that. He is doing it now, and needs musical accompaniment. The house is gently awash with the sound of Hendrix. SO PROUD OF HIS TASTE AS WELL.

Got to take a trip to the police station tomorrow to give a statement as I witnessed some arsehole headbutt a traffic warden for 'getting too close to him'. People are such utter cunts.

Pretty much resigned myself to the fact that I'm going to end up getting it given where I work. We've already had a few (suspected) cases among staff and people just aren't following advice. Seen so many people in the shop, potentially infecting my staff, shopping for the most non essential bollocks.

Just got to take care of myself and hope I'm one of the lucky ones. I've quit smoking, cut down on the drink, eating well, making sure I get enough sleep, etc, etc. Nothing else I can really do.

Doctors and nurses from both the hospitals less than a mile away. Yes, they are customers here. They argue that an occasional drink helps reduce stress

It'll help reduce my stress tonight that's for sure. Gave it up for a while but it's been a stressful day...and one won't hurt :)

Hubby has gotten himself a new thermometer, he's sticking it down our bastard ears every 5 minutes.

What?

Very quiet down my road - then again it's a cul-de-sac mainly populated at this end of the road with people even older than I am so it's doesn't feel any different to usual really.

Weird not contemplating going out of the house/garden much though did take a walk up to the park area next to the (closed) leisure centre this afternoon for a bit of exercise.

Got any remaining necessary items very early yesterday in Asda - most were observing sensible distancing though there's always one who doesn't. Went well away from him elsewhere in the shop.

Alexander errr Boris errr de errr Pfeffel err Johnson using a lot of words to say absolutely fucking nothing again. The man is useless.

Self-employed news tomorrow it seems. Widespread talk that it's 80% of average earnings over three years, as declared to HMRC.

If this comes off then great. I've just checked my HMRC account and I can see my own returns right back to 2014/15. Pay me 80% of what I earned on average across 2016/17, 2017/18 and 2018/19 and I'm happy as I won't starve or have my leccy turned off.

I did actually earn more in 2019/20 (not quite finished yet, and obviously not submitted yet) but so what. I just need help right now so I can afford to eat. Everyone needs to start adjusting their mindset, the Government isn't stepping in to protect your lifestyle, it's trying to stop a catastrophe. And if it works, I applaud them for that.

That said they shouldn't have just ignored us in their initial statements.

More Tim Martin news: Wetherspoons aren't paying suppliers even for stuff that has actually been delivered until the Government pay them.

Shame on you if you ever use them again after this.

I don’t understand why they keep going in about it being so difficulty. Everyone has a UTR and, like you, I can see all my self-assement stuff online. It’s no more difficult than people on PAYE.
