Plenty of dinosaurs still:
I think the question now is "do you give a fuck about climate change?"The question has moved from “do you believe in climate change” to “do you understand climate change”.
Or in the case of plenty of politicians “are you getting paid enough by the fossil fuel industries to not give a fuck about climate change?”I think the question now is "do you give a fuck about climate change?"
Makes sense to me too, traditional fuels like petrol give you massive amounts of energy for not much space. I believe hydrogen cells are a more realistic bet than batteries for cars.....until the first hydrogen car blows upI keep reading a lot about hydrogen cells being the answer. Does anyone know much about them? Obviously there is a big safety issue but using renewable electricity to produce hydrogen gas makes a lot of sense at face value.
Gallium nitride batteries are the future, IMV. Hydrogen is horrendously inefficient for vehicles for some reason IIRC.Makes sense to me too, traditional fuels like petrol give you massive amounts of energy for not much space. NI Water are about to do it, going to use excess renewables to split water - H2 for transport and O2 for wastewater treatment.Hydrogen is definitely one to watch. One issue right now is that its generally extracted from natural gas, so thats baaad.
But if we can perfect the technology to use clean energy to split water then that could be very good indeed. Imagine a filling station with a wind turbine on top making hydrogen from clean electricity and its water supply....
On the fence.. wow.
A lot of the stuff the West is doing is just tinkering like getting rid of the ICE etc. Until the likes of Russia, USA, China, Australia, India, Brazil get on board wim fucked, I'm not holding my breath.
