If the change was on purpose then that would be even more worrying to me. We just look so slow to every second ball at the moment. Totally reactive.

Not going to go that far yet, but there are worrying signs

For me the issue is up front - a second goal for us would have killed Cardiff off - we never looked liked we could get that.

There is always a chance of a defensive feck up or a shot that is difficult to stop but 2 goals up would have stopped their momentum.

We were purposefully much more direct. Bypassed our midfield (who up to sixty minutes were playing very well) - But second half what we needed to do was retain the ball better as Cardiff were getting ragged.

Utterly awful at defending set pieces and gave away pretty much every second ball. Cardiff thrive on that and won because of it. Boly was very good and Jota was decent when he came on, Traore was alright in spurts, other than that we were pretty crap. We need a better forward than Jimenez and Costa was dire tonight. We won’t win with the forwards playing that badly

I saw us bypassing midfield but if that was by plan then I am stunned. I would personally say that that is exactly the wrong idea for our players.

Plenty of players below par, but I simply cannot see any point in persisting with Helder Costa at the moment. Neves is suspended for Chelsea so MGW gets a start. Nuno has a saying: "You win or you learn." So far he seems to have learned very little from a lot of the games.

We got exactly what we deserved out of that.

The midfield were poor, the attackers were poor and the defending for both the goals was poor.

Apart from a cracking finish from Doherty, I cant think of anything positive to say about that performance.

The IFs have been playing too wide for most of the season and have easily be nullified.

Cardiff , unlike Huddersfield or Watford just played like Cardiff. We knew what they would do and allowed them to do it.

The last two games were almost as bad as we were the last time we were in the prem.

Boly was excellent, the rest ranged between mediocre and dreadful. On this and recent evidence I would really like Jota and Cav to have a run together. We had our best run last season when they played at the same time, they're both smart and creative and I've seen nothing this season to suggest that either Costa or Traore really merit playing in front of them at the minute.

Neves suspended for Chelsea leads to an interesting decision. Dendoncker, finally? A start for MGW (which would be a hell of a confidence vote)? Or does he simply move Saiss forward and put Bennett back in (who has to be wondering why exactly he was dropped considering Saiss was nothing special tonight)

One harkens back to Dan's first reactions upon hearing the rumors that we'd be going 3-4-3 under Nuno. He was not pleased, for many reasons that we seem to be seing come to the fore now.
