He's been ok in the main, it's not his natural game but he's trying to fit in at least. Not passing to Raul is criminal though and just sums him up as a player.

Well on top. Struggling to break them down but they're well-organized and have decent defenders.

Notably, they've tried to press us just as Norwich did, and we're playing around/through that press miles better than we did at the weekend.

Dendoncker has also been quite good, one hospital pass aside.

Some great football being played, Traore playing well even though he probably should've passed it to Jimenez when he went on to hit the bar.

Early on looked like playing out from the back was going to get them in to trouble with some shocking lack of composure at times but given Burnley a bit of a run around since and they appear to have abandoned the press.

Wood still getting a bit of joy in physical battles at times, impressed with Ait-Nouri up against him in the corner just before the break.

Just need to move the ball a little quicker at times at the business end, think Jimenez the most guilty party there for holding onto things a bit too long at times.

All in all a good watch so far.

I'd bet my whole bank account that Raul, Hwang, Ait Nouri, Semedo would all have easily created that 'chance' and passed with us scoring. Adama wasn't against van dijk he was running at someone treading treacle. Fucking making out like he's beat 9 players in a Messi esque run.

I'd be tempted to swap Hwang for Trincao. A bit of trickery might be helpful unlocking this defence

Adama's chance is him in a nutshell, equally is the response to it on here. You see what you want to see.

It's a better game than must be coming across on the tele, quite open really. We miss Neves to open it up and are trying to score the perfect pass, pass, pass goal around the box a bit too much. Raul doesn't really have the pace to play on the left, but it's bugger all to do with his injury, he's putting in one hell of a shift

We re playing some nice stuff out of defence and through the midfield but God we slow it down around their box, make it easier for them.
Nothing wrong with Traore taking that shot on, should score, a bit unlucky. The pass for Raul was spot on, great tackle.

He ran in a straight line for 40 yards. Raul overtook him so it wasn't even running that fast. They are both quick enough to run under no pressure that sort of distance, it's not difficult. The only reason the rest couldn't is because they just wouldn't be quick enough.

Agree with this. Some frustrating bits around the box but is fluid and you can see the plan. I wish we could find the way to play like this in away games!
