Burnley at home on the 16th

Almost certainly the three biggest earners in our history (with Neves maybe creeping in at the bottom of that four). Patricio is on MILES more than we have ever paid a player. And deservedly so. You get what you pay for, if you scout correctly.

Yes - sure that they are costing a lot per week in wages, but that's what the Premier League riches cover

Just, from what I have seen so far, don't think that there is that much difference between Alisson in the Pool squad & Patricio & there's a lot of spare cash in what they cost to buy.

Don't forget - Alisson is only 25. Yes, we will get a good few years from Rui, and he clearly is looking after himself to ensure a good run with us, but Liverpool have a keeper for a decade. Plus Alisson is probably still on his improvement curve, whereas Rui is absolutely at his peak.

But , and this is a guess , let's say they are on 100 k a week that's a total of 2 million a month or 24 million a year or 25% of the minimum we make from TV if we are in the 20 the spot in the league . Seems bloody good business to me.

I don't know, I reckon Rui has got a couple of years left until he hits his peak and he seems the kind of athlete who will still be there four years later.

Always a slight risk though when you spend that much - players don't always go on & improve or get a career ending injury early (not that I would want that on anyone whoever they played for).

Hopefully by the time Rui is done we have established ourselves & can attract the right replacement

Not sure how many players you are adding into that at £100K pw, but if it's the few that have been mentioned then that's a fecking long month to get to £2m

We have recruited well (it seems, anyway) but just don't get sucked into the trap of thinking these players are cheap, they really aren't.

Doubtless true - as soon as we became Premier League the bill got higher

Goes for every other club at that level though

Can't wait for this, our first visit of the season. Last season we struggled against the 'lesser' teams in the games we went to but I'm hopeful we'll be able to break them down, think Traore could be the key despite his inconsistancy

Traore late on can be devastating, but still hope that Costa & Jota get their act fully together, which they haven't quite yet

A big deal that we haven't had had Cavaleiro available yet as that would give us other options

Yeah, we could do with Cav back, overall I thought he was our most influential attacking player last season.
There is a rumour that he's had a bit of a bust up with Nuno.....probably just Molmix crap.....well I hope so anyway

I can imagine this game feeling a bit like last season, we’ll control possession and limit their chances so all depends if we can create enough to win

And why are rumours about Cav having a bust up with Nuno permeating?

Because people like to make nonsense up.

I presume the Cav bust up shit is from the same people who claimed Costa wasn't injured when he was pulled out of the game v Forest and had refused to play after a bid was accepted for him. Every player at Wolves seems to have a bust up with the manager or other players when we are told they are injured.

Handy reminder to Ruben on where to aim for next Sunday.
