I used to deliver newspapers for his Grandad. Had a little sweetshop/newsagents on Washway Road in Sale when I was a kid.
Don used to come see them, they lived down our road towards the Bridgewater canal. We'd be out in the road playing football and he drove a big fuck off pale blue Ford Zephyr and when we all saw him coming the standard of football used to rocket !

Tbh if he's basically looking to replicate his Sevilla style, then of the fullbacks only Bueno and maybe RAN fit the bill. His width came from the full backs, and the 'wide' men were more central. Of the wide forwards we've got there's only Podence (who's not good enough) and Sarabia (who I don't think will work in the PL) who naturally like to play that way. Neto could potentially play off that right half space but I think he much prefers to start wider and face his man up. Nunes has had mixed results off the right, but I guess if he's going to be inconsistent it's better out there than in a midfield two.

It's going to be a really interesting Summer, I think (and hope, tbh) that what we've seen from Lop so far has been a necessary pragmatism, and we'll hopefully see his style more next season

He's very much a pragmatic manager, we aren't going to turn into a swashbuckling attacking outfit under him. His Sevilla team very rarely blew teams away, most were tight affairs, founded on keeping clean sheets. I'd expect plenty of 1-0, 2-0, 1-1's throughout his spell here.

I reckon we'll be unchanged. Neves & Lemina in the middle again. Harsh on Gomes, but you can't drop Mario. Also think Hugo will keep his place ahead of Toti.

Personally I'd have Nunes on the right and Sarabia on the left.

With Gomes' recent form we're now in a position where we don't need to bring Moutinho on in a position that doesn't work if Lop wants to change to a midfield three. Gomes came on against Palace, and Neves was the one who got pushed forwards. Presumably to stop him sitting too deep behind the other two. Hard to know if that is correct as we had very little of the ball that second half, but it seems like the best idea to me.

Since Lop came in we have built a squad that means players miss out. Jonny, RAN & Raul the 3 that can't get in along with Traore the Better Liked

Boubacar to become permanent signing

Boubacar Traore will become a permanent Wolves player on 1st July 2023 after a clause in his loan agreement was automatically triggered.

If we're only playing 2 CMs, Nunes is on the pitch and can shift over, then Moutinho and Gomes (as it stands) are on the bench, then we don't really need another one sat there I suppose.

Clearly all six won't be here next season.

Moutinho is out of contact and unlikely to renew.

The midfielders you've listed are all deep lying or box to box. I don't see Nunes playing there, more likely a new player like Scott who can play both 10 and a deeper 8.

I think Cundle will come back and be an option with Cunha in the 10 role too.
