Brentford (H) 20/12: Build-Up & Match Thread

It's just ludicrous thinking. The only other similar example I can think of is when Mick McCarthy took over Sunderland after Howard Wilkinson and lost every game. Mick only had 9 games of the season left though, Rob took over with 27.

To lose EVERY single game (which I don't think he will btw, I still think we'll end up with 15+ points) would be completely unprecedented.

Not sure why we keep talking about it, if no one thinks it'll happen?

I think 15+ points would definitely be enough for Shi to confirm his thoughts that he is a genius.

People keep saying that he's somehow immune from being sacked this season and it's ludicrous, that's why we're talking about it.

Edwards might be a few rungs down on the list of concerns right now but if he can't win games he'll get the sack and there's no point pretending otherwise.

No, he isn't literally immune from being sacked.

But short of shitting on Shi's desk (or losing every game) he is.

Shi has made that clear from what he has said upon the appointment, the cash he spent on getting him in, and the interview last week.

Also i don't think it will get toxic towards Edwards from the fans, a couple of wins and a couple of draws will be enough to stop that.

I wouldn't be putting too much stock in Shi not sacking someone on the basis that he's paid to get them out of their previous club.

Lest we forget Shi sacked the previous two incumbents off the back of just rewarding them with an improved and longer term contract!

Fair.

But that also proves furthermore what an unpredictable idiot he is.

Edwards needs to show he can improve the team if he wants to be here in August. I suspect he’ll remain in charge until the end of the season but if we’re on less than about 8 points by the end of February he’ll be on thin ice and there’s every likelihood Rui Pedro will take over to give him time to prepare for the Championship. He’ll be granted a lot of leeway but not a completely free hit.

Good points.
Unfortunately, I can foresee all of the following being in discussion with their agents right now.
IF they don't turn up against Brentford - who should be tired after playing last night - then we know they raised their game if they were on the pitch against Arsenal.
Sa, Mosquera, Krejci, Toti, Agbadou, Munetsi, Joao, Andre, both Buenos, Lopez, Arias and JSL. That's 13 and several of them will have wanted to be in with a chance of going to the World Cup. Edit: How could I possibly forget Hwang..........
Probably more if they want to continue being internationals eg Wolfe, Bellegarde, Tolu and Tchatchoua. Another 4.
Let's see if our two experts from the lofty standards of Luton, Boro, Telford and Wigan can raise their game and stir some of them to play properly and commit......
