It's still worth getting a membership IMO.

You get to buy earlier than General sale so you have a much better chance of seats in a decent position.

Once general sale comes around you're looking at the flanks or the very front/back.

Thanks for the replies guys, amazing though isnt it, the ground closed for all that time during COVID and yet the didnt bother checking it during that period. So now with that section closed the club are losing money. The stadium manager needs a kick up the arse.

I thought last Saturday's performances showed that Podence is the better option the Traore when we play against a team that will drop back and pack their penalty area. Traore is the better option against teams that don't.

I haven't seen anything of Brentford but read one report that suggests that they dropped back. If that is the case, I think Podence would make a better option than Traore for the coming match.

Its frustrating for me that the options for going aren't the best as its become difficult to secure tickets next to each other when I book.

The 3.00pm on a Saturday KO probably helped drive the initial sales, but after that its just odds and sods around the ground, I'm still going but its far from ideal. What this highlights is that there is no way we are building a bigger stadium in the short term, we would sell out 45k prob 3 times a season, the rest would hover around the 30k as the novelty factor wanes

My diary is all over the place and I went to games that suited me rather than who me may have been playing, which has always struck me as an odd way to select your ticket purchase, as surely the team you go to see is Wolves.

The membership loyalty points scheme seemed the best solution and suited me as I say going to games that suited my diary and also meant that I did go to a few games where I thought that will be good for the LPs. I also tend not to go to the televised ones because, well its easier with the family.

Does anyone know if next season the Loyalty points will be used in assessing who gets to pay for membership + or will it be a purely monetary transaction?

We'd sell out no problem if the prices weren't so ludicrously high.

No one wants mega expansion. It’s definitely unnecessary.

But the SB needs doing, and whilst your doing it you may as well Chuck in and extra 5-8k seats (I’m sure that could easily be done on the current site), which would have a functioning stand, closer to the pitch, improve corporate offerings and non matchday revenue whilst also making the ground look less lopsided.

Currently sat with a Wednesday fan who's just bought an adult & 2 kids tickets for their game on Saturday against Shrews. 47 quid! In league 1!

Its going to cost alot of money for little return, especially if they are looking for a 10 year repayment.

lets say they rebuild the Steve Bull with an additional 5k, thats what a 15k overall stand size? That would cost circa £65m in an average rebuild standard

That would mean over 10 years, each new seat (which is the contribution over and above what they already receive) would need to contribute £1,300/year or on a 20 home game season £65/match.

If they drop the prices elsewhere then each of those seats would have to contribute more

The only way prices are coming down is if we go back to standing and fit more in the SB, but that wouldn't be by much.

Fosun are looking at it as an investment (rightly or wrongly) and aren't seeing the benefit, mainly because it never stacks up as an investment.

I would also add that I doubt an out of town Stadium would be of interest either, the additional cost of infrastructure and the inability to recoup any money from the ground sale as the Covernant on the land states it must be for sport. I should imagine that there would be little appetite in attempting to turn a field in four ashes into the premium gambling and sports centre of the Country

I doubt whether anything to do with infrastructure in football is an investment. It's part and parcel of owning a club. A bit like owning a car and doing loads of mods and repairs to it. It doesn't make it worth anymore on the resale. All it does is make it better/more comfortable to drive while you own it.

But it’s not just a standard matchday ticket. Could offer better boxes than the garbage in the SB at the moment as well as simpler corporate packages. Then you’ve got the better sales of food and drink before during and after the game.

Plus could be used for non football events which brings in more money.

It also doesn’t expire in 10 years. So after that 10 years it’s pure profit, and you’d think it would add some value to your investment.

No stadium investment pays for itself after 10 years. It was more bullshit from Jeff. Why wouldn't it be 20 years which is still short for any infrastructure build of that kind

It would also be an asset on the balance sheet with an in-home stream in both ticket and merchandise.

Ticket prices could go down and we would fill the stadium at 45k.

Of course the elephant in the room is that the club makes a profit already and this debt wouldn't be the kind any prospective owner would worry about.

The corporate revenue at the Wolves must be tiny compared to most established PL clubs. Who in their right mind would want to host any customer or client in the Steve Bull stand? That place is gross. The club would definitely make a return on an investment to rebuild the Steve Bull. The point is they clearly don't want to. The "there are only 200,000 Wolves fans in the UK" quote shows overwhelmingly the club's priority in terms of where to put their money to seek a return.

Like I've said before on here, when you own a club, not absolutely everything can be about getting a quick ROI. The Steve Bull stand is not fit for purpose and potentially dangerous, it needs doing in the very near future, regardless on whether it can pay for itself quickly or not.

Give it two years and it will have the same issues as the Tilton and Kop at St Andrews.

Exactly, and then the market prices might be even less favourable too (I've no idea what the market is like now though, assume Brexit hasn't helped both materials and skills availability)

As a decent sized local supplier of pre sprayed concrete panels I have spent much of the last three years hoping to see the MD giving Jeff Shi and co a factory tour, but alas no such luck.
