Bratislava Home Game Build Up

id have to go with raul for mom, but adama for close second. neves was superb too, one of his best games in the last year, penalty and all.
i know its early and he wasnt really tested and i dont wanna jinx it, but kilman is looking superb. so fucking cool headed, positionaly aware, big and strong and not slow or clumsy at all. decent pass too, albeit at coady

Neves wasn’t even the best central midfielder tonight.

Thought their keeper played a blinder !

Raúl MOTM for me. Adama played well but his end product was lacking this evening (mind you, he kept going and grabbed an assist for the winner, so job done on that front). Special mention to Kilman, who was excellent. Looks like we have a really good player on our hands there.

Agree with the Kilman shouts. Might not have been the sternest attack he was up against but he looked assured. Would be great if we can depend on him until Boly gets back.

One of our best performances so far, that. We're growing into this season nicely.

Slovan fans kicking off outside the Mol at the moment. Just seen a video of clashes with police. Wankers.

Really pleased with both the performance and the result. We never gave up, and I thought it was going to be one of those days, especially after the penalty miss.

Thought Moutinho was majestic. Neves was also very good but loses marks for his spot kick. Impressed with Donk and Kilman at the back - both solid, confident on the ball and slotted in well.

Almost there now - I'm really enjoying seeing us compete and win in Europe, and it's not like we're playing against poor sides either. Tonight was very professional.

Other than the filthy fucker in the south bank whose farts were utterly rancid, the obvious sour note was their centre half - hope his injury isn't too serious. Looked horrible from where we were.

There's videos of the defenders head injury on line.

It looks like something from UFC

I did wonder if Raul might have got sent off, he did kick someone in the head after all - dangerous play?

Raul MOtM for me for his work rate alone but his link play impressed me a lot. Neves passing was visionary tonight with some of the threading the needle passes exceptional. Thought all 3 at the back looked composed in the main and brought the ball out when needed to.

I have no idea what people were watching with Adama he was appalling. End product and decision making were abysmal but he gets a deflection on his cross and Raul scores so he walks off with his head held high so far play to him for that. Neto was anyonymous apart from the penalty but some of his running off the ball is very good.

I thought Traore did okay TBF - yes, his delivery let him down (he wasn't the only one guilty of this) but he had the beating of their LB several times. Thought Neto was pretty quiet though.

Neto looks like a left winger rather than an inside forward to me.

There is talent there but needs some development and some gym work

Neto was pointless for me, added nothing to game apart from the pen.

There was no cohesion between Neto and Vinagre at all, maybe not that surprising when they've not played that much together. Compare to how Jonny and Jota are constantly looking to interlink and it's night and day though.

Neto was okay. Movement sometimes not bad but just didn’t do a great deal with the ball. Thought Traore was fine, some very good 1v1 play, but like Vinagre some of his crosses were really poor.

Overall though I thought we were pretty good. Enjoyed Kilman's performance and thought the midfield two were good. Neves’ passes in behind were outrageous at times

Kilman did well, played it simple (which he should at this stage of his career).

Wasn't overly tested defensively.

Moutinho's pass and Doherty's shot deserved a goal.

Kilman looks a proper player.

Traore was excellent until he got the injury. After that he was mostly a passenger - still tried but he was protecting himself from further damage and rightly so. Probably Nuno should have made the change.

Raul did very damn well, and the header was a belter.

Delighted with the win. We weren't at our best overall in my opinion but we got the job done and let's face it we are as good as qualified for post-Christmas European football. Oh my days that sounds good.

Lazy from the sofa lot not to start a proper verdict thread :D

Easy match really. Slovan were game but way too limited, Rui won't have a quieter game all season. Should have been at least 3-0.

Virtually qualified with two games to spare, lovely stuff.

I have no idea what people were watching with Adama he was appalling.

He wasn't. First 15/20 he played really well and a most of the stuff was going through him and Doherty, he did fade after that but in the first half you could really tell he was much more of a team player. Some really nice stuff and ideas. Didn't contribute really in the second half but after that pull it's understandable.

Kilman MOTM for me, he didn't put a foot wrong. Moutinho was as majestic as usual (I still can't believe I'm watching him at Wolves) and Raul was Raul, a steal at £30m. Neves, Donck, Doherty, Coady all excellent. Vinagre needs to just slow down and think a bit more, he looks quite erratic at times, he'll be a hell of a left back when he matures. Poor game from Neto, he tried but it was no good.

Traore has 7 assists this season, difficult to criticise him. If Nuno can fix the ball watching he'll be a £30m+ player

We just never look like scoring. Jiminez looks to be the only person inthe box when Traore gets to the byline.

We need better runs from midfield. Moutinho and Neves look scared to get in for a header.

Our corners are woeful also, don't remember the last time we ever scored from one.

We just never look like scoring.

Don't agree with this at all - we created numerous chances but were thwarted by bad luck, excellent goalkeeping or both.

I'd worry if we never seemed to create opportunities but we played well enough to have won by more than the 1 goal. Aside from the penalty, Raul, Doc, Neves could and in some cases should have scored. To say we didn't look like scoring is a bit odd when we had so many chances.

Nothing to worry about in terms of creativity, and we look more composed in possession than we did a few months back.
