Boris at it again and the contest to replace the lying c***

Journalists have crucified themselves enough over this crisis and now they're all having a whinge about people not liking them. Boo fucking hoo.

If they weren't such utter cunts looking for a gotcha moment in the first place and trying to bolster thier ego's they wouldn't be perceived as the grandstanding twats they are.

As a profession they're making this set of Tory MP's look good. Piers Morgan is being hailed as the second coming of David Frost by other colleagues in his profession and not the hectoring bully he is. His badgering of the terrible Tory MP this morning was fucking shameful, he had no need to look for the gotcha all the time and it took Susanna Reid to ask the one question which was useful.

So would you care if Journalists were crucified at a press conference? They fucking deserve it.
Morgan has had to reinvent his brand. A year ago he had "will of the people" Brexit, Trump sucking and Megan bashing. He's lost 2 of those now and there's only so much mileage in the third, so he's gone for man of the people, holding politicians to account/bully depending on your viewpoint. He doesn't give a monkeys which side anyone is on aslong as he's been spoken about, which we've just indulged

Only that isn't what you said was it?

Absolutely nothing like the point above. Your particular whine was about the Tories only being challenged now. That's rubbish.

I don't think the press have changed at all. Still the same shite peddled day after day with no journalism worthy of the name.

Today's press conference had several gotcha questions from some of the grandstanding wankers.
It's one and the same point, you know this.

The difference is, 6 months ago I was "whining" about the press and you were defending them, now you are "whining" about them yourself.

Journalists are supposed to be investigative and hold power to account. Almost none of the mainstream ones do. They either spread actual lies to sow division or parrot what a 'Downing Street source' has fed them. They've fucked themselves and they can fuck off.

I think you can (or should might be more apt) give credit to governments during a crisis if they act well - though I think the more normal form is to pretend they didn’t prevent the whole country from being fucked and blame them anyway.

You are, as you already know, correct, and you should have added that if the questioning gets too tough you just keep repeating the mantra 'It was a global crisis, it was a global crisis !'

Yeah, well I was tempted to give the government the benefit of the doubt, but the graph I just posted in the coronavirus threads shows they deserve no benefit or credit whatsoever.

From a financial perspective, they have got things right. The furlough scheme is a success, grants for small businesses, scrapping business rates for small businesses this year, help for the self employed, government backed loans, help for councils, cancelling NHS trust debts.

Compared to the labour response to the Global Financial Crash where they refinanced the banks, got the economy growing but left many small businesses to fall by the wayside.

It doesn’t stop questions being asked about how they have managed the lead up to the outbreak here and managing it since. Something has gone wrong in that our death figures look appalling in the graph of today.

I have questioned that on that page save spreading over multiple pages.

Downing Street sources saying that the cabinet office are going to clear Priti Vacant against allegations of bullying in three government departments.

It will be interesting to see if the employment tribunal for a claim of constructive dismissal reaches the same conclusion.

Sounds remarkably similar to Boris being cleared of impropriety in about two days over the Arcuri stuff (there is still a criminal part of that ongoing but it's gone very quiet)

No questioning the impartiality of the process.

“It tells you everything that is wrong with investigations under the ministerial code that a process which is not written down, which contains no rights for those who might complain, that is determined in secret, alone by a prime minister who has already pledged his allegiance to the minister in advance, and which allows no right to transparency or challenge for anyone who complained, would then be leaked on the evening before the home secretary is due to appear before the home affairs select committee,”

He's a dad again.

Perfect opportunity for this gif

This is a slightly different ball game. Not even playing with the same ball.

No it's patently the same, i was criticising the press for them being woeful, and you were defending them.

Now the focus has changed you are defending them.

They have always been the same, the focus has merely changed.

Indeed the focus has changed to a life threatening pandemic rather than your perceived victimisation of a woeful leader.

We are talking about the quality/lack of quality of the press, and we were back in November/December, but back then you were defending them.

You often do this, try and derail things with semantics if you have no genuine way of arguing.

The press aren't very good, they aren't genuine - the focus has switched on to the Tories of late, so different people are now witnessing their ineptness, for the last 5 years their focus has largely been elsewhere. They haven't changed just the target, it's no surprise that you are suddenly upset by it.

I'm not sure if you're being deliberately obtuse or just plain stupid here. Can you genuinely not see the difference in the ability to question policy in a manner that would give people incisive information in the national interest and the questioning of your dear socialist mascot in an election campaign?

The two are not comparable. One is party politics one is the health of the nation.
