Boris at it again and the contest to replace the lying c***

Good. He definitely is the worst prime minister in history. Perfect batting record in any vote and behaviour that most dictators would baulk at.

This isn't meant sarcastically, but do you speak to many Brexit supporters Paddy? I ask because you post with a lense of traditional politics. This isn't traditional. Brexiters don't see it that way. Everything is about the "the establishment", blocking the will of the people. As long as he is still pursuing Brexit there is little Johnson can do to make him damaged goods in their eyes and that includes having to ask for an extension. Last night was all about reinforcing that.

Just on this - I know very, very, very few people who will admit to voting Leave.

The few who do pretty much recognise what a shambles it is.

These just aren't the circles I move in so maybe I have my own little echo chamber. But how the fuck can anyone support this? There are zero tangible benefits.

literally every time I've engaged on the subject, it comes down to a simple "leave means leave will of the people rah rah rah". as said, it's not a logical discussion at this point, treating it is as such is pointless.

it's the same thing with dumbass shit over here, like trumps wall

they did an interview with people who had a golf course on the border of texas, and the wall was being build directly through it which was going to put them out of business and really hurt their family. they were trump supporters and continue to remain so. I understand there's a 'bigger picture' thing sometimes, but when a thing isn't going to do what it's supposed to, is financially ruinous, and also hurts you personally.... I mean...

how many interviews have there been with people who voted leave, who have already felt the direct affect of the uncertainty and/or are bracing for the inevitable, and still fucking support it?!

blows foot off with a shotgun. THERE. Good. Nice.

I have the pleasure(?) of knowing many types of leavers. The openly racist, give me my country back types, the wealthy traditional Tories, who identify with those in the government, and, most worryingly, people who voted remain, but now just want the whole thing to be done and dusted and see No Deal as the quickest easiest way to achieve this...

Yeah I know a few 'just get on with it because I'm sick of hearing about it' types, unfortunately. It's not worth bothering to tell them that this is the very beginning of it all - if people don't want to hear about Brexit, I suggest immigration or hibernation. Either option sounds good to me once we leave.

Same if we remain though TBF - the divide between both extremes isn't just going to go away.

At least we would have won then

Yes - but it's not like the country will return to how it was, and TBH as much as I'd like them to revoke A50 ASAP, it would set an extremely dangerous precedent as well as pissing off millions of voters. Leave or remain, no deal or revoke, the country is going to be fucking horrible for a long time yet.

Agree with all of this - the only sensible way out was to accept the result in 2016, whether remain or leave, and if the latter get a consensus as to how BEFORE we went back to the EU to negotiate.

None of that happened and we are where we are with a fractured country. Whatever outcome now occurs it will split somewhere roughly down the middle. There will be a lot of pissed off people whatever happens.

A lot of people will leave either way. If this wank puffin stays in charge moving to Oz to be with my brother really appeals.

I've found it to be very odd at times when people reveal which they voted and their reasons for doing so, some fairly to easy to understand their reasoning even if you don't agree with it but others just seem bonkers.

Majority of my family seem to have voted leave. I can understand it from some like my uncle who has never really traveled anywhere and lives a very insular life, I can see why he see's very little benefit in being part of the EU, similar but less acceptable from another uncle and my brother in law who seem to have voted purely through racism, I get where they're coming from but it's shit house stuff. Third uncle and father the most perplexing as they've both traveled around quite a bit, reasonably educated and my father in particular worked for a multi-national company for almost my entire life, encountered many nationalities through that career and visited sister companies across several European countries, it'll obviously have a massive impact on his employer but doesn't seem to care, often seems to have had his opinion warped more by a dislike for certain European individuals he's encountered along the way. Think that's even more bonkers than my sister and mother who both just seem to have nodded along with their respective partners, they don't seem to have much of an opinion either way but both felt motivated to vote leave for some reason.

Plenty of bizarre oddities at work too, plenty of people worried about the effect it will have on us professionally with availability of labour and price of materials coming from the EU but some people really surprised me with their views on it too. One older guy who I expected to be cut and dried Brexiteer was as staunch a Remainer as you could ever expect to meet, yet another guy similar age to me had potentially the most bizarre view on it, just thought it was worth trying something new, take a gamble.

De Pfeffel still unrepentant about his language and behaviour.

Fucking cunt.

He's a disgusting creature.

I cannot understand anyone ever voting for him.

For most of the country, there's two choices. One of them is Corbyn. That's why!

Don't give me whataboutery (I'm no Corbyn fan). This is the Prime Minister and he's a total disgrace.

It's not whataboutery. It's what real people think. Floating voters would rather have face-aids than have Corbyn as PM. Largely for bullshit reasons, but a vote is a vote. Bojo could jizz on the queen's face while she slept and he'd still have higher approval ratings than JC

Please explain what "real people" are, last time I checked, I existed.

Anyone who thinks Corbyn is as bad as Johnson needs to have a word with themselves.

I know they're wrong. You know they're wrong. But their vote still counts. Unfortunately unless somebody is both a; politically engaged and b; left leaning, then Corbyn can't and won't win their vote. Shambles of an opposition leader. It could be Ian Beale in charge and they'd smash the tories. Anybody ffs.
