I've no idea, but if they're not in hospital because of Covid (e.g. gone in for a new hip but found to have Covid at a level that wouldn't require hospital treatment) they aren't really part of the discussion.

Always thought as soon as June 21st was the date, it was full steam ahead to dropping all restrictions, even if science said otherwise, seems everyone has just thought it's over, nobody social distances or wears masks in shops now( I still do, I know how manky the public are from doing bus driving for 25+ years) , it should help if the weather stays decent, but I still expect another wave and a lockdown September time

A poll this weekend has something like 57% backing the extension, so from his view point still doing the popular thing.

Yes, that's right, although, thinking about what you said, if people who are in for other causes do test +ve, they would presumably need to be moved to a Covid ward, which could give the false impression of more hospitalisations due to Covid.

He's had a crap G7 all round, according to David Frost( who wore Union Jack socks all weekend) those nasty EU people are too inflexible with the rules over the Northern Ireland protocol, ie they're sticking to them and the agreement fat al signed, whereas we want to be more "creative"

He got quite the rigourous examination from channel 4 recently, and that might have factored into things. As soon as he is confronted by a serious journalist, who knows their stuff and isn't afraid to challenge him, and throw his own words back at him he struggles big time. Kinda like when covid first hit, and the daily announcements started on the monday, and by the thursday he was already saying he waned to stop them.

Lib Dems win the Chesham & Amersham by- election.

Essentially a guaranteed blue win (always been a Tory seat since the 70's). Last election Tories won it with 55% of the vote and a 16000+ majority. Lib Dem candidate smashed that and gained 8000+ more votes.

You would hope it would be the kick up the backside for Labour. Accept that in some places they are better forming an alliance with the Lib dems and others rather than split the vote and let the Tories in unchallenged. Seems the voters in C&A took it upon themselves this time, plenty of Labour voters from the area on Twitter this morning saying the flipped for the greater good (greater good)

The issue for Labour is why all the Lib Dems didn't flip to Labour to knock the Tories out. Of course, it won't make any difference to the Labour Party at the moment as they don't know what they are - opposition party in name only, devoid of an identity, policies and leadership.
