Plus St Pete Beach is well worth a visit too. Really nice. I like the gulf coast a lot.

Spent my dinner looking at sea cows...

I've just booked a three night escape for myself and the missus to Porto in November.
3 nights bed and breakfast, a 6 bridges cruise in Porto, a Quinta da Boeira Visit & wine tasting plus return flights to Porto all for £250.

Looks really good and I can't wait!

Sounds great darlo. Makes me lol how many TWF-ers are off on their hols to portugal nowadays! :icon_lol:

I'm going to Portugal in 2 weeks. Really looking forward to it! #onthebandwagon

Porto is great, bit cold in November though..

Fuck you - many years ago I was at Swindon on an uncovered terrace in the pissing rain watching us lose 1-0 to a 92nd minute Wayne Allison goal on Boxing Day.

Never been to Portugal, but this sounds a great deal. Did you book it all separately or is it a package?

I signed up (for free) with a kind of "Secret escapes" site called Voyage Privé. They have all sorts of offers for holidays all over the world

Anyone got any tips on relaxing and quiet places to visit in Thailand? Thinking of heading there with the missus in November.

Anywhere on Koh Samui is great.

Lamai beach in the south east of the Island or Choeng Mon/Bophut village in the north are all really nice places.

I've actually just booked 2 weeks in Sri Lanka travelling on my own in November - 4 days are being taken up by the Cricket but if anyone has any suggestions outside of that then I am all ears!

The owner of our Thai office used to own this place - https://www.dolphinbayresort.com/
Don't know what it's like now but we stayed there in 2009 and it was fantastic. Nice and quiet and close to an unspoilt national park. And you can see dolphins in the bay :)

He now owns this place on Koh Chang - www.kohchang-holidays.com which we're planning to go to next year. More info on Koh Chang - www.iamkohchang.com

PM me if you'd like a bit more info. Happy to put you in touch with him.

Koh Chang is nice.

I haven't been myself but my Dad lives in Thailand and has been a few times.

I shall be going to Thailand, but not for a few years yet - it'll be for my 40th and I'll need to save. So we're provisionally looking at Easter 2021 (which seems fucking AGES away).
