Gasthaus Holzwirt, Ascholding: it is about 40 kilometres south of Munich.

The main course is Zwiebel Rost braten.

Who needs sex, when you can eat ice-cream like that.

Off to Malta tomorrow for a week. Looking forward to some sun and beers... We are forecast to arrive to thunder and rain
Greece is being hammered by thunderstorms and much lower temperatures, but after 3 months of 40 - 44c, i'm over the moon brian 😂

Be interested to hear your review of this, it's on our radar for late this year or early next.

Was thinking about this, went to Malta in February years ago and it was rainy and cold cold cold. Not sure if we just got unlucky and I’m sure plenty of people will have had good weather out of season, but it very much felt as though the reliable months are May to September and the further you move away from those more you are chancing your arm.

Always thought May or Sept were good times to visit the med as the chances of good weather still very high and the kids have cleared off back to school with prices still reasonable too. Got a week in Turkey early next month which is a bit of a gamble as temperatures can fall away pretty quickly in October, but if it holds up the med out of season gives a lot of bang for the buck.
