Anyone on here been to Nashville?

Currently on the process of sorted out another US road trip (Atlanta - Nashville - Memphis) but really struggling on the best area to stay in Nashville. Also appears to be the home of the worlds most expensive hotels. Some of the prices are just bastard stupid. So any recommendations

Used to live kinda close to Nashville (Tullahoma).
If you are just flying into Nashville head south to Smryna or Murfreesboro. Both are largish cities with plenty of affordable accommodation

Atlanta to Chattanooga is roughly 2 and a bit hours (just north of where I currently live)
Atlanta to Nashville is a good 3 and a bit hour drive and there is a time change too from eastern to central time. Smyrna or Murfreesboro is 30 / 45 mins away from Nashville. Mileage wise it's not very far but the motorway sucks closer you get to Nashville

Shame you don't like NFL, because there's a website called Touchdown trips that does an East Coast road trip package with three different games/cities. I think it was Atlanta and two games in Florida.

Will be stopping in Chattanooga for a bit on the way up. Looks like we will flying over on the 26th May next year (which means if Wolves pull off a teeny miralce and get to the Europa Final I will be watching from over there). Think we want to get close as possible to the main part of Nashville. Once parked up we won't use the car that much and rely on public transport to get to and from the hotel if needed. Looked at some in the middle and they were like £300 a night, yeah not paying just short of grand plus taxes for a bed for 3 nights..

My only hope is the roads in are not LA style, over 2 hours to travel 11 miles was fun earlier this year, especially after 11 hours flying and 2 hours getting out of the airport

Chattanooga is a pretty decent city. Lots of stuff going on and they have 2 football teams (Chattanooga FC and Chattanooga Red Wolves) the aquarium is a fun morning out too, along with some top restaurants and micro breweries.
If you are up in Nashville the corvette museum in Kentucky is well worth a visit!
Roads are not too bad so long as you miss the usual commute hours.
I'll look around for some hotels and let you know what's close to Broadway..

I really liked Atlanta. CocaCola is well worth a visit if you haven't been before along with the Superdome.

The buttermilk chicken is heavenly and a visit to a dive bar is a must. There are a good dozen or so bars that are brilliant fun and if the wife doesn't mind there's a bar visited by lots of famous folk called the Claremont Lounge. It's a proper dive but they have some great bands on in there.

No worries. A certain must is also the new Atlanta Braves stadium
It's posted as 'Atlanta' but is closer to Marietta, which is a super nice town. Mark Wahlburg has a burger joint right by the stadium and the burgers and onion rings are worth the extra few dollars. If you are around and they are at home I'll try and bag some corporate tickets for you

If the Braves are on a home series then you should catch a game. MLB is most nights. Knowing your luck they will be playing the Cubs and I will be green with envy.
