Beer

Carlsberg gonna Carlsberg

Most of those are pretty average tbf. However, the choice for the consumer is reduced and the basic principle of binning cask because there's 'less faff' is disturbing, but hey ho the bean counters are happy.

Living 200 miles away, I don't often see Banks's in pubs, although the local Coop will randomly sometimes have bottles of Mild for just over a quid, which is nice...

I always used to enjoy a pint of Banks mild (and Sunbeam). As with any beer it depends how its kept. Dont think any of our locals stock them anymore (haven't been in our local Marsdens/Banks for a while)
Mostly I frequent the local Black Country Ales pub, I like all of their brews, plus they usually stock some interesting guest ales.

Does this announcement mean no bottles too? I quite like old empire.

Very sad to see. Hardly a surprise though, Carlsberg closed Wychwood and just asset stripped the Hobgoblin brand.

Huh. Had no idea they did that to Wychwood 😒
My mate was a brewer there. Just shut the brewery and moved production of the Wychwood beers they still make to Burton and Wolverhampton. Wolves going now.

Thoroughly enjoyable drink even with the odd spice kick at the end.

Today's seems to a very mild one

The second one was one of my favourite Beavertown beers before they sold out.
