IIRC the same guys who own the D&D also own/owned the Newhampton (which closed last year).Been the case for a month or more now. Apparently it's gone way downhill over the last year or so (can't actually remember the last time I went in). Looks like at the moment they just do their music nights on a Thursday/Friday/Saturday and that's it, it's not open any other time.

Neil Franklin the former Stoke City & England Centre-half was the landlord at the D&D in the mid 70s. The 6 day licence was a condition placed by Lord Harrowby (the pub was part of the Sandon estate) IIRC.The Beer's OK, too many Marston's on but they do serve a cracking Slumbering Monk when they have it.
