Yeah a lot will depend on the length of Cunhas ban, also injuries to key players. I also have more faith we can pick up odd points against what GON thought were unbeatable teams.
At least we're in with a chance now. Currently I'm 50/50, 2 weeks ago I thought we were 100% gonners.

I mean it's pretty wild. We won 3 out of 26 under the last guy (with 2 clean sheets) and have now won 2 out of 2 under the new guy with 2 clean sheets.

A lot of us lost patience a long time before - but how the living FUCK did he keep his job after the Everton shambles? Why did we just throw away two games?

We didn't need to go through Jorge though. It was a fella desperate to work in England, stuck in a shithole desert league, who Fosun already knew of.

Because we wouldn't ask Jorge and wanted to go down the Hobbs route again.
Got told to go away by everyone and had no choice but to ask our old friend.
Look who turned up in the dressing room after we’d won a game.

Jeff's gonna be Jeff though, and will want to keep that relationship sweet. It's not just players/managers on Gestifute's books he has access to either, he can help facilitate other deals too thanks to his contacts.

We didn't need to do a lot of things but, well Jeff really.

Do not try and make sense of what he does

Hobbs is just massively out of his depth though. We didn’t sack O’Neil because he was desperate for it to work and he was so up his arse he couldn’t admit he was wrong, especially after the laughable contract situation. There was probably an element of trying to penny pinch too knowing the pay off would be pricey.

Then we get onto finding a successor. Hobbs has gone from Head of academy recruitment to DoF in less than 5 years. Just over 6 years ago he was an academy scout for the South West. I just don’t think he has the required knowledge or contacts to cast a wide net. It’s like he’s playing football manager but only has the UK loaded on it. He might me the best scout in the country, but that’s not his role anymore. Beale, O’Neil, Smith, Lampard and then only having Potter and Moyes to call on. It’s very “bloke down the pub” than someone in charge at a PL club

He should have gone after Brentford but having survived he should have been sacked at the final whistle at Goodison. It was beyond all doubt he’d run out of road but we gave him two more games to drag us deeper into the shit. Incomprehensibly stupid, the equivalent of a football Darwin Award.

Still early days and this group of players are equally capable of losing 4 on the spin badly.
We’re just 1-2 good CH of being comfortable in this league so you know the brief Hobbs, no doubt you’ll delete it by accident.

Maybe . . . I have a bit more confidence in Pereira to address any potential form dip, his experience is a very strong positive for me, plus what he had achieved in a week is extremely heartening.

Not saying he’s Nuno’s Mark 2 so lets see how he goes if, and when, results go against him.

I’m confident we will get a CH in January (hopefully decent) as I think the penny has finally dropped with Shi.

The problem is will Shi revert to his normal SOP incompetence once the season ends and we rinse repeat what happened with Lop etc.

Until the issue with how the club is being managed (ie. Shi) then every season is a potential cliffhanger for the club in facing relegation.

Lurking self consciously at the back door. On yer bike Hobbs and stick to scouting.
PS Edit Actually after checking, Matt Hobbs did not scout Kilman (that was Joe Monks) or Hugo Bueno (that was Graham Clutton) and he certainly didn´t scout Gibbs-White. So who has our great leader scouted since he joined the club in 2015?

I think you can give him Mosquera and Joao Gomes and we should have signed Enzo Fernandez (I don't like him much but I'd have quite liked £80m+ profit in 6 months) on his say so.

He's over promoted, not totally clueless. We're not in the realm of having £3m to spend on a striker and using it all on Joe fucking Mason.
