2015 Cricket World Cup Australia/ New Zealand

At least we've posted 300+ again, it'll give Sri Lanka something to think about.

Yeah, good to have the runs on the board.

I really would like to see Taylor and Buttler with more time at the crease though, rather than Buttler playing these very handy but limited cameos right at the end why not let him have the chance of an 80-100 ball stay, think of the damage he could do because he can score anywhere off any bowling.

Well, that was another brutal defeat. 309 on the board and still lose by 9 wickets.

Absolutely crushed by a fairly shit side. Awful.

Morgan and Moores should be binned.

Another 8 days until we play again, it's a long painful death

Totally pathetic bowling display this time and senior players like Broad looking like amateurs at times, Finn is again becoming unselectable.
In a way I hope we don't make the 1/4 so it'll hammer home to the hieracy at the ECB just how bad we really are.
Heads need to role as I keep saying Moores results in his first spell were poor and so it's proving again.
David Saker as a bowling coach needs moving on to, our bowling is predictable flat and uninspired.
Ballance, Finn and Broad need dropping for the next game.

At least we put a decent total together. Sadly though the bowling was just not good enough. And it resulted in another good hiding.

Zimbabwe in with a decent shout here. Pakistan have been as poor as England (nearly) in this tournament.

There is absolutely no invention with this side and the negative tactics when batting and fielding really are holding us back. I don't think the likes of Ballance, Morgan and Finn are good enough and I think Anderson and Broads bowling is getting more wayward as the years go by.
Anderson and Broad are good with a red swinging ball in dull English conditions but the one day game seems to be moving away from them.

We were fifty short at least due to playing ten overs of test cricket in the middle of a one day international courtesy of our awesome captain.

Exactly right.

Flat pitch, little or no lateral movement, little or no turn.

I gave up watching and went to bed. Boring, unimaginative, cautious, pathetic.

Our bowling is poor and seems to be getting worse, I'm not sure how david saker still has a job tbh

This is as bad a one day side I can remember, even Alec Stewart debacle in 1999 weren't this bad. We moved a whole ashes series to prepare for this and have ditched test cricket for 8 months for this and we seem to have got worse.
Michael Vaughan summed us up well to predictable, the opposition team talk on us will take two minutes they know exactly what we are doing.
We seem hell bent on spouting out stats about how well we might do.
I'll say it again the one day format has to change in this country fast otherwise this will get worse.

I don't think the batting is that bad, fairly young with some decent guys waiting to come in. Need to be more explosive on the flatter pitches but the bowling is more of a concern, we just have no idea how to bowl in ODIs.

Haven't seen the highlights, but the stats don't look good. So we need to win every game from now? And will that be enough?

And there doesn't seem to be to many bowlers waiting in the wings to take over from Broad and Anderson.

Had to call it a night not longer after we took our sole wicket. Disgraceful stuff from Morgan to throw the bowlers under the bus after his innings. 68% dot balls in the middle of the innings FFS.

We have little variety in our bowling, four right arm seamers of around the same pace (at least two of whom really need the ball to be swinging consistently to have an impact in ODIs) and an off spinner plus a part time off spinner. It will make defending totals difficult against teams with good batsmen. We were 20-30 light because of Morgan clogging up the innings and the psychology of chasing 310 as opposed to 340 is massive.

It remains incredible that we have guaranteed this guy a spot for this tournament at least when he has been in shocking form (is it even form now?) for a long, long time. If we want to get anywhere in the QFs (I still think we'll qualify) then he's got to be moving down the order now. There are far better players in better touch going completely wasted.

It won't happen though. I think if it was up to me id put Hales in for Ballance and Bopara for Morgan and bat him at 7, move Taylor and Buttler up one place. The bowling is poor and very similar as you say, trouble is anytime the ECB he their hands on a promising bowler they tend to get worse.

It's all going to be ok. The new bossman at the ECB says KP has a chance of returning (just needs to actually play for a County)

Peter Moores would have to be moved on before KP is even considered, I really am not having Moores as a international coach. Good at county level fine but clueless at this level.
We need a coach who has actually played the game in the past 10 years ie Jason Gillespie or lance Klusener.
