Its really frustrating that Anderson and Broad are allowed to get away with bowling as poorly as they do in one-dayers for so long, yet anyone young we try to bring through bowls poorly (as expected in spells) at the start of an international career and gets booted out.
As said above, move Broad and Anderson to just tests, and seriously give players a chance, not just a couple of games. The likes of Rankin, Jordan, Gurney have been around the one-day side yet get nowhere near the chances Broad and Anderson do.
This World Cup is a right off for me (even though if me made the quarters and got India I'd think we would have a chance) The next World Cup is here, so lets blood some youngsters and give them a proper chance.
Come the next one-dayers I wouldn't mind seeing us put out the following side.
Hales
Bell
Taylor
Root (c)
Moeen Ali
Stokes
Buttler
Woakes
Jordan
Rankin (or a spinner, not sure who though)
Gurney
A youthful, quick bowling attack with 6 genuine bowling options. Explosive players in Buttler, Stokes, Hales and Ali, and players who can bat sensibly and anchor an innings and rotate strike in Bell, Taylor and Root.
