2015 Cricket World Cup Australia/ New Zealand

Terrific win by the West Indies especially after defeat to Ireland, Pakistan were 1-4 at one point and have succumbed to a 150 defeat pretty embarrassing also.

Balls didn't want that result, hoped Windies would lose their games against the other 3 big guns.
If things go to form then the final game in the group between us and Pakistan will be huge. Can see it coming down to run rate between us Pakistan and Windies for 3,4 & 5. (granted still a long way to go).

Excellent third umpire decision to keep Bravo at the crease. Looking forward to seeing Riaz. If the radar gun is to be believed he is Shoaib Akhtar rapid.

He is quick, but I don't think he is as fast as Akhtar. Hopefully he doesn't have the same injury problems.

I've never really trusted the speed guns, I'm sure there were some in England clocking Broad at 93mph once.

Akhtar is the quickest I have ever seen. Saw Pakistan at Lords and he was unbelievably quick.

Stokes has been clocked at around 90 as well. No chance.

If you bowl a full toss it is always clocked as faster as it hasn't bounced. Still a shit delivery though.

Bowling speed is taken at release from the hand. A full toss will be no quicker on the gun than any other. Of course ball speed at release (or more accurately velocity at that point in time) is only one component of the speed at which the ball reaches the batsman. In short it's why bowling speed is a bollocks stat to use. Plenty of other factors are just as important.

Michael Holding was very quick indeed. I do not think they had speed monitors then, but I doubt if there have been many bowlers faster than "whispering death."

South Africa need 308 to beat India. This could be a close game. They are currently 31-1 after 10 overs.

India looked in disarray a month ago, now they look a different team. I am not sure what they have done to turn things round, but whatever it is, it has worked.

He's the fastest I've seen. I remember watching him at Worcester once. I couldn't see the ball once it had left his hand, just heard it hitting the keeper's gloves.

Agreed. I saw him at Grace Road, and the pitch was a bit lively, and Holding was nigh on unplayable. And very fast.

It's a World Cup so they've decided they can be bothered again now

So..it's the BIG ONE. England v Scotchland (will Glasgow Wolf be able to cope with this?)

A routine win or will it be a nail biting scramble over the line or will there be major shock and England win?
