The Summer 2024 Transfer Thread.

£13m our opening bid according to the BBC
I know nothing about the player - so for this convo will assume he is clearly rated and we want him (well otherwise we wouldn’t be bidding) but it’s fucking pathetic is a stumbling block on the deal is 2million

Remember when the window started and there was a slight wiff of positivity….

Just standard bidding bollocks innit. Not Wolves specific. Football clubs act as if they are hitting the "or best offer" on eBay.

No I get that. Just infuriates me. If you’re 10mil apart, then fair do’s but 2 mil in footballing terms is like haggling for a fiver - when it’s something you clearly need

That £2m will cover the reduced income from ticket sales though. Priorities.

That will be countered by the increase in our ‘tourist’ fans I reckon. We’re just living in a Jeff Shi world

Zaha links shot down by Hobbs' adopted son.

Links to a new winger might 'drop' later today though apparently. Why do people with inside info always have to be so fucking insufferable about it?
Honestly I still find the while thing hard to believe. Surely that would be sackable?

Who's going to sack him? Jeff won't and nobody else at Fosun cares enough to even know.
I guess that might be fair?

He ought to be fired if it’s true.

Anyone else dreading GON's attempts to defend the indefensible with regards to incoming transfers at todays press conference?

All he will say today is a repeat of the lot of working going in to get the deals done, him and Hobbs meeting all the time to discuss targets...bit of whinge about PL ready players needed etc

If the situation stays the same, it will be the defensive work after next Friday

I don’t want to hear him mention it.

His bullshit is starting to insult me.
This feels a bit harsh to me?

GON has been pretty honest about his transfer needs? He was in January, he wanted a striker and he voiced that throughout the window?

Him being honest with us fans is better than what Nuno used to do (which was better for the club) where he'd say nothing?

Jeff promises GON pretty new things just as much as he does us fans.

All comes down to how he behaves if and when we don't do the business he wants. If the new contract buys his silence then he loses my respect.
