Trump

Worth bearing in mind that the MoS has always been editorially distinct from the Daily Mail - and often more moderate (while still being RW)

More like a Sunday version of the Telegraph.

And on the subject of Trump and his friends; I saw a Cybertruck in the flesh for the first time yesterday in Dubai - it was fugly. And the driver looked like a fucking moron.

Big announcement tonight from trump, general consensus on social media ( I know) is he’s pulling the US out of NATO and American forces out of Europe.
No doubt this post will age like milk outside in the sun.

Looks like hes ending US

It appears hes going to end sanctions on Russia and normalise relations....that's as good as siding with them

The FTSE reached a record high today didn’t it before slipping back a little.

You could hear the argument that his stance was America First even if you disagreed with it. It's impossible to argue rationale behind that decision other than pure loyalty to Putin

The US Senate has confirmed Linda McMahon as the nation’s next education secretary, entrusting the former wrestling executive with a department marked for dismantling by Donald Trump.

Tory MP Graham Stuart (no, me neither)

We have to consider the possibility that President Trump is a Russian asset.

If so, Trump’s acquisition is the crowning achievement of Putin’s FSB career – and Europe is on its own

With the tariff spat between US, China and Canada, might we see a US/Russia trade deal?

Broken down on each member state here;

The import data there is a bit misleading, given all the stats are pre war. I just checked out Germanys import of oil and gas and imports are zero as of Sept. 2022

From the Guardian article.

In the calendar year 2024, the EU spent 39% more on Russian fossil fuel imports than it set aside for Ukraine.

Reading that, there wasn't even an EU embargo and EU countries, were still buying Russian LPG, to sell it for a profit to third countries. In December 2023, 98% of Austrias gas came from Russia, as they have a contract until 2040.

Surely if you support Ukraine, you should call out the hypocrisy from the EU, which is directly helping Russia, finance buying arms?
