Worst XI of the decade

The thing is we were actually quite good when Rankine won it!

We were awful when Doc did, so although he didn't deserve it (again, I'll tell you why in great detail if you like) it was like well, whatever.

Rankine won it in a season where Dave Kelly scored 20 goals FFS.

Thing with Rankine is he was soooo bad at FB that when he went into CM and was only slightly bad everyone got really carried away.

Harsh on Leon. He at least scored goals for us.

I'd have someone like Marlon Harewood ahead of him every day of the week.
Sheff United away proved why Leon deserves to be on this list. When 21 year old Jack Price has to scream 3 times at you to mark the keeper (only available player) from an oppositions throw in near their by-line and you still don't understand then there are some serious basic issues...

I'd have Dave Edwards in this list (I realise I'm on my own with this) as I hated watching a man with such terrible ability as a footballer being lauded by people who thought he was good. Terrible, terrible player.

He really was like a dog chasing a balloon.

Dave Edwards was bloody awful.

But he tried and he cared. These wankers didn't.

Andy Lonergan
Ronald Zubar - Roger Johnson - Kaspars Gorkss - Jack Robinson
Tongo Doumbia - Eggert Jonsson - Sheyi Ojo
Grant Holt - Paul Gladon - Frank Nouble

Had to add Ojo in the midfield as I thoroughly hated him. Strikers was probably the toughest one, Jake Cassidy another possibility or even Marcus Bent. But Gladon looked like a competition winner, Nouble was a useless carthorse (can't find his goal against Northampton but was insanely bad if I remember right) and Holt was totally gone. Shocking that there are players who mean Leon misses out...

I think that's what annoys me most of all. Anybody can try and care, I'd try and care, I'd still be shit at it and people would give him a pass for that and tell you how great he is. He was awful.

Those with no heart bother me but not so much as those that don't care, Jermaine Pennant, JOH and Halford being the biggest culprits and they rightly are on this list.

Dangerous Dave doesn't even come close to the levels required for this thread.

Note, this is not an endorsement of Dave Edwards, more a damnation of players like Jamie Clapham.

Dave makes my team and deservedly so.

Jamie was ok considering he was part of Micks last minute trolley dash. Did a job and was moved on.

I think this thread just shows we have reached the age where time means nothing. 2003 was 5 years ago to most of us...

Indeed he was awful but over a decade ago now.
I've just realised I've mentioned players outside of this decade!

I'll have to settle with raising you with Anthony Forde...

He wasn't. He was terrible. I hated watching him!
He was the reason I got a season ticket...

I guess I am being kind to him because of the nature of our transfers that window in terms of time and money.

If effort levels alone get you in [or out in Dave Edwards case], Borthwick-Jackson deserves a mention.

Don't be kind to him, embrace the hate.
