Wolves Women Thread

We won 2-1 at Burnley today, still forest's to lose, but really important result
Yep, it's all down to goal difference at the top of the table with one game to go.

If we do better than Forest's result, we win the league. If Forest do better than us, or it's an equal result, they do. If both Forest and Wolves lose, and Burnley win, then the title goes to Burnley.

And then of course, whoever wins the league doesn't get promoted automatically, but has to play off against the winners of the Southern Premier, which is looking most likely to be Oxford, but it's almost as close as the Northern Premier.

That last minute arranged game against Stoke with players missing looks like it's going to be costly

Yep, that's the big "if only" of the season - conceding with basically the last kick of the game really does look like it might well be going to bite us in the end.

What are Oxford like in comparison to us? Aware that here's more professionalism/money in the South division, but as it's 'only Oxford', presuming they're not as strong as say last year's Southampton for example?

I don't know for sure, but I would say they're not far short of last season's Southampton team. Ipswich, for example, are professional and they're beating them, so they're absolutely no mugs.

Tickets for the County Cup Final at Molineux on Tuesday 9 May are now available from the club website, though slightly bizarrely under "home tickets" are are not available via the "Wolves Women" link.

Wolves fans are in the bottom Billy Wright, Stourbridge fans in the bottom Steve Bull. It would be really good to get a decent turnout there from everyone who usually just go to see the men's first team.

After half an hour Forest and Wolves are both 1 up, Stoke who Forest are playing have an outfield player in goal

Wolves are 2-0 up at half time, with a great goal by Beth Merrick and an Anna Morphet penalty, but Forest are still 1-0 up.

Both teams won 3-0, so unfortunately it's Forest who make the play off

Absolutely gutting to have finished second in the league on goal difference alone, especially with the players having had to pick themselves up after last season's playoff disappointment.

Now just the County Cup to go and win.

It's the County Cup Final tonight at Molineux, so if any of you aren't busy and fancy giving it a try, then come along!

Two for Amber, 2-0 at the break, done and dusted

Trophy successfully retained, meaning that despite missing out on another league title on goal difference, there's something to show for another excellent season.

Final score was 3-0, with the third from Jade Cross in addition to Amber's first half double.

I do have to wonder if that's the last we've seen of captain Anna Price in a Wolves shirt now - she's in her mid-thirties and got over 300 appearances, and if so, lifting a trophy's not a bad way to bow out.

Thanks for your time keeping us up to date with the girls, Mr Bus.
I hope Wolves Mens section commit more resources to the girls to get them where the bigger clubs are and on TV.

I mean you can continue to live in the 70's if you like. What time's Man About The House on?
