Wolves - Norwich Match Thread

They do with 20 seconds to go. Exactly what Preston did on Saturday.

Afobe's fault was 10 yards away from MGW (who was excellent btw) and made no effort to help him out. He offers support and the ball stays in the corner. Awful from Ruddy on the goal though, not anticipating that the player whose had the most shots in the league this season (whom he played with) to shoot stupidly from 35 yards is inexcusable.

Ive just got back and watched the Oliveira goal. It’s FUCKING MILES OUT! Further than I thought live. How the fuck have you let that in Ruddy??

Ah well. Still 13pts clear of third with 13 games left.

Special mention for the referee who was an utter disgrace today. Bent cunt.

I can't believe why Neves was given a yellow, it was is first foul . Piss poor decision by the ref .

I'm far more frustrated with the timing of the equaliser as opposed to the actual result which was more than fair. Norwich played well and deserved their point but both their goals were annoying. A daft foul by Neves for the first from the resulting set piece and obviously conceding with the last kick was incredibly annoying.

We were far too wasteful in the final third. Afobe is miles off the pace I'm afraid, not helped when he clattered into the hoardings soon after coming on. Looks a totally different player to the one who was here last time.

MGW looks like a fantastic talent. Very exciting indeed.

Overall we have to take it on the chin and learn to defend a lead better and stop conceding so many daft free kicks in dangerous areas.

Ah well - hopefully a better performance on Saturday against a decent Fulham side. We showed glimpses of quality today but need a bit more patience when we don't have the ball.

Still - 13 clear of 3rd with 13 left. Hard to be too worked up when you see the table.

I thought it was a fair decision. And it wasn't his first foul. The ref got a few decisions wrong towards the end but I didn't think he was THAT bad overall. We've seen far, far worse this season. He was no Steve Martin.

2 goals in 2 games conceded from set pieces now. Nuno won’t be happy with that.

Seeing a LOT of posts on twitter calling for Norris to come in now. I wouldn’t be against that.

It's always a kick in the bollocks when you concede that late on, but have calmed down a bit now

Didn't see it so no idea who was to blame for that, but not going to get any more upset by it - still didn't lose & 13 pts ahead of third with 13 games to go and there aren't 2 sides who will get enough to overtake us.

The loss of Neves is unfortunate, but it was always likely to happen before we got to the cutoff date - at least when he comes back he won't have to worry about it

Being a keeper himself in his playing days, I find it unlikely Nuno will just drop Ruddy on the back of a mistake like that. Imagine what it would do to him as well. I'd be very surprised. Not that I don't have confidence in Norris, who I have high hopes for, I just don't see Nuno doing that.

Nuno will be more bothered about us conceding from set pieces like you said I imagine. It's a team effort all round.

Agree - wouldn't object in any way to giving Norris an opportunity

Well we're still well clear at the top and we are still going up so it all still looks rather good but tonight wasn't great from being 2 up. Nuno got his changes and formations wrong, they made no sense. Afobe coming on requires a complete change to how we play especially when he's coming on for Cav, think Nuno needs to look at this. Even with all that we had won the game until the very last kick. Now i think some of the criticism of Ruddy has been very harsh but he simply shouldn't concede from there.

Oh well on to Saturday which should be a cracking game and hoping for another bounce back to form like we have seen at several points this season.

Calling it how I saw it at the game, so apologies if TV sees things differently:
There is a difference between managing the game and overplaying in the second half we were guilty of the latter. The other problem with that is you are always susceptible to a mistake, set piece or wonder goal, we conceded from a goalkeeping error from a 35 yd shot and we left ourselves vulnerable to it.

I didn't understand Nuno's subs, assuming Costa had a knock then Bonatini was the obvious sub, it was difficult to decipher what our formation was supposed to be and we looked confused trying to play it.

That's 3 games 3 set pieces conceded, it's becoming a problem again. They don't score straight after us then it's game over.

Finally my sons under 10 side has a kid playing for it who is a lovely lad and tries really hard, however his speed of thought, touch and control aren't quite up to the speed of the rest of the side. For Wolves that's Benik Afobe.

Some of the abuse Ruddy is getting on Twitter (as well as one twat behind us at full time) is disgusting. Some of our fans are cunts. I'd keep him in - I'd love him to play a blinder on Saturday to shut them up.

Is Nuno trying to hard to shoehorn Benik into the side. For me since Afobe has come in we have lost shape a he'll of a lot. Got away with it against QPR but not tonight. Leo coming in tonight would have allowed greater ball retention and better chances, with Afobe he wants balls through and on the last man. We haven't ever played that way under Nuno.

Thought Neves was daft for his yellow. Sort of like when a player gets a second yellow and you're left thinking "what the fuck did he do that for?"

Generally well off the pace, Costa and Cav looked lively but thought Jota was pretty subdued on the whole. Neves ticked over booking aside. Saiss did ok when he came on but it left us flat footed on the counter. Really starting to love MGW touch and calmness in possession is way beyond his years and really hope he's rewarded with starts in Neves absence (with Saiss)

Started the night 12 points clear and finish it 13 points clear. That'll do.

Whilst I would like to see what Norris can bring, wouldn't have a problem if Nuno keeps faith with Ruddy - sounded as if he saved us from conceding earlier which would have been potentially more damaging.

Reality is that that late in the game we need to ensure that the ball is a long way into their half (or preferably well into the Steve Bull Upper tier) - goals from 35 yrds will happen - goals from 75yrds very very very rarely

Sake. Still miles clear of third but 3 home games in a row where we haven’t played well. Seems a weird time to change formation when 2-1 up at ht.

Haven't seen tonight's game so can't comment, but first half against QPR we played well and could have been 3 or 4 up at half time. We were great against Sheffield Utd.

"3 home games in a row where we haven't played well" is plainly wrong
