We were in that full Covid season and that got exaggerated because every game was on TV - personally I stopped watching as it was a facsimile of football. Nuno got deserved criticism on here for his Southampton cup line up, but I don't remember much sentiment to get rid, bar Mark being Mark

I can still remember when my lad messaged me with the news Nuno had gone, I couldn't believe it, I know we'd had a poor season (compared to the previous 3) but I was astounded that he wasn't given a chance to turn it round. It seemed to show a lack of respect given what he'd achieved and also quite dumb.
Oh how we'd love to finish a comfortable 13th this season.

There were also people claiming part way through 2021/22 that we'd upgraded by appointing Lage and worrying that the likes of Sevilla would be in to poach him if we weren't careful.

There’s a vocal minority (majority?) who just can’t help themselves when it comes to shooting their stupid mouths off about Nuno. Some of them genuinely only needed us to thump Shrewsbury for them to wang on about how that was way better than Nuno games in the cup. Fosun’s dream customers. Same crowd who were puzzling over if Gomes / Andre were better than Moutinho / Neves. Amazing.
