Kenning was only at Wolves in 68-69 according to the occasionally reliable Wiki so I reckon you are right
Father Time can get so fucking fucked oh my God13 years since we sacked Solbakken.
Definitely 68/69 - Bill McGarry was appointed manager in Nov'68.What year would that be? I had a few of them on Topps football cards, Holsgrove, Woodfield, Doog, Waggy...I was only a nipperso I'm guessing '68/69?
He joined Wolves in early 1968 and played in the 67/68 season.Kenning was only at Wolves in 68-69 according to the occasionally reliable Wiki so I reckon you are right
I doubt I would have had the Topps cards as new as I would have only been 5 years old, so probably swapped them with some other lad later when I was maybe 7 or soSorry, my bad. The image is 1968.
Still in very good nick when he worked in M&S in town.I never saw Peter Knowles play as he was before my time, so have no reference point, but his size on that picture surprises me. I'd always, clearly wrongly, assumed he was small in stature.
Yeah, my wife has met him - she had no idea who he wasThat reminds me, i was listening to Mutch and Dennison' podcast the other day and was amazed to hear that Dennison is a postman and was chatting about how busy he was over Christmas.
I imagine most of you knew that, but I didn't. Was a little surprised that a top 0.1% level footballer in the 90s didn't earn enough to retire, but then again it's a big gap from when a footballer retires to when they can actually draw a pension as such.
Kenning (born in Erdington) had played with Mike Bailey at Charlton and that was an influence to him coming to usHe joined Wolves in early 1968 and played in the 67/68 season.
Saw him score against Forest in the 6-1 win in April'68.
Remember him as he was living in Bridgnorth, Dad did his wedding. Think he may have worked at Veolia at some pointMark Clyde worked for a Landscapers IIRC.
He surely isn't a builder now, he's 62?Mutch and Dennison's Wolves careers pretty much coincided as did their retirements. Mutch is a builder back in Southport so both have had to work again. Andy Mutch even got one year of PL money.
Thats what I thought too.I never saw Peter Knowles play as he was before my time, so have no reference point, but his size on that picture surprises me. I'd always, clearly wrongly, assumed he was small in stature.
Why?He surely isn't a builder now, he's 62?
Because that's hard, physical graft for a 62 year old. Why?
I last saw him a couple of years ago. He was still thenHe surely isn't a builder now, he's 62?
